Well, I've decided to give up on Costco's CSR after waiting for 47 minutes.

Ridiculous.

I just don't know what to do. Hopefully YankeeDudeL gets back to me soon.

This is our FINAL 2 weeks. If we are still here 2 weeks from now...still saying 2 weeks...that would make the release date December 23rd. There is NO WAY this phone will release that late. Verizon would not let that happen.

This is it people - the home stretch :):D

The one I played with at Verizon had a little bit of lag on the keyboard, but I thought Steven said that his experience was no lag at all.

I think I might swing over to Verizon and play with it again before I make any decisions. I'll reboot it first, and see if there's any lag.

Damn you Verizon. Damn you for making me sink to this level.

Speaking as a dedicated Android user, yeah, I often see people defensive about their phones. Even in this corner, I see a misinformation about other phones getting accepted as truth by virtue of repetition. It seems to go with the territory.

Speaking as a mod, I want to thank all (looking at you, jd :)) who rise above the fray and I don't want to thank anyone who gets into into flaming people.

Speaking as a guy who hates seeing TP because I get confused about the Touch Pro, TouchPad (or worse the other connotation) I wonder if there might be a chance that ATP gets adopted for the ASUS Transformer Prime.

Note for anyone who cares about PenTile details - RGBW type is strictly the LCD version. The outdoor claims and expectations for OLED type screens working outdoors comes from the idea that you can get OLED to pump out more light and have the right screen / glass treatments to overcome bright sunlight.

My prediction stands that we will surpass the DInc mark by 10% come Monday.
 
The rezound costco deal is a real test of our resolve. It's tempting, but I'm holding out for a true ICS experience. Even though, with all the delays, I'm sure the nexus is going to have more nagging issues than the rezound when it finally comes out.

If you don't hate sense im sure the Rezound is a perfectly fine phone.

From a few pages back, the Rezound has the same radio problem as the Thunderbolt. So don't count on official ROM support. You will most likely never see an official CM build for this phone due to this problem. I've been really really disappointed by ROM support for the Thunderbolt. The sense and "de-sensed" ROMS work fine, but basically the AOSP ROMS are pretty messy in general. Reception and signal stability on AOSP roms for the Thunderbolt are notoriously terrible.
 
Just called my VZW store. They new nothing about the ad....but on a good note, the guy told me and confirmed with a fellow rep that the double data deal has been extended until the end of the year. Can anyone else confirm this with their store or online??? As this thread proves, you can definitely NOT trust everything you are told by a store rep! :D

side note, i can't wait to ditch this razr. LTE power drain with no removable battery is just not cutting it for me. i always carried an extra with my thunderbolt, now i feel like i am constantly looking for an open outlet. also, other than the screen, i see no advantage to the razr over my 'bolt running AOSP. it is sad that i actually miss that phone when i am holding this, but it also reminds me of how much i love AOSP and why i really wanted the GNex in the first place.

I've "heard" others mention the the double data through 12/31(or more). But don't count me as confirmation.

Two weeks ago I was on Verizon chat with an agent and he said that the double data plan will last until January.

Sounds good!

Can you link to the info on the radio problems? I don't recall reading that anywhere.
 
hans, going to do my best to sway you. here's the story of my most recent phone with htc

gingerbread was released in dec 2010 i think. thunderbolt launched in march or april with froyo, and that it would be updating to GB "soon". a month later, "soon" became "end of e2". the last day of june came along and nothing. no announcements. then there was rumors of end of summer. that came and nothing

they finally released the update in early october. here's the real kicker - the update they released was the same exact version developers already had their hands on for months. this version made it so voicemail notifications didn't work

yes, vzw pushed an update to our phones that made it so we never new when we got voicemails. they suspended that update, and released a working version late oct/early nov, 4 weeks later

i gave up waiting was running on gb through developers since summer. i still wanted the legit update for better performance. and it sucked. but in your case, not rooting your phone.. you would have been waiting all this time with no information. sound familar? at least with this gnex stuff, its only been a few weeks. imagine waiting for an update for 7-8 months

ontop of that, without rooting, your phone will eventually start running laggy on the rezound.. dual core or not. that's just how sense is

I'm just not a fan of the HtC form factor, sense, or their feel in hand. The I can see how others would like them but for me, the only other phone I would consider right now is the Razr. I would miss the nicer screen -especially coming from a Sammy - but i would live just fine without it. I my concerns would be the sealed battery. So unless December rolls by with no Gnex, and I will stick it out till its released with my Dcharge. Go Launcher and now Swift Key X are making it a lot better... At least for now...

I was so certain that Verizon wouldn't be stupid enough to not take advantage of Black Friday.

I swore to you guys and to myself that if I didn't have even a release date by Black Friday, I'd jump. And I thought I was being really frakking generous!

Yet here we are, on Black Friday itself, with not an official peep of a release date?

Don't you guys see what's happening? Don't you see how much we're being screwed?

It's frakking Black Friday and we're no closer to knowing even a damn release date than where we were before the unveiling!!

I don't know about you guys, but all these dates I've been hearing about the Droid 4, end of Double Data, GNex on Tuesday, etc. are really starting to confuse me... and what irritates me most is that Verizon hasn't said a damn thing about any of it!

So is this Costco deal available in store for the Rezound? $50 bucks is a bang up deal and if the SGN hits on the 8th we can still go blow the 6x as much on it if we must as we will be under even the 14 day period at this point.

I can see what they are trying to do by staying silent. They want people to upgrade asap so they feel like they got the deals or are tired of waiting for the Galaxy Nexus. They know it will be a hot phone, then when it releases people will return their phone they bought out of desperation only to be charged a $30-$40 fee for restocking. Its money in the bank and I think their plan is working.

We just need to hold out for a bit longer, not much.
