Well I hope we hear something this week. My DX is getting a little wonky. Went back to GB .605 with Go Launcher. I think it senses that I no longer love it as I once did and it's slowly dying from a broken heart.

I know what you mean, but all of this has been rumors anyways. We shouldn't be 100% trustworthy of any rumor because unless it's official, it's just not official! But rumors are what make this whole thing fun

Like I said i am certainly not picking on him, and I know he is just a kid. I remember those days were I thought I knew everything too. But this is just getting to be to much, my feeling is that we all need to sit back and just wait for it to come whenever that is. speculating is certainly not going to make that happen any sooner

I wish that were the case, but I am sure VZW will do well without the release of this phone in 2011.

I guess I'm not sure what you mean by harassment. Certainly some people may take it a bit too far, but simply providing feedback to VZW employees is not harassment, IMHO. That said, though I rarely fly, I would view pilots as an acceptable target for my feedback as well, either good or bad. If the airlines didn't feel the same way, why have the crew greet the passengers when boarding/debarking?
I'm not trying to suggest that asking a VZW floor employee about release dates is the *best* method to inform the idiots at VZW corporate, but it is a valid and acceptable method. And neither I nor anyone else needs approval from anyone else to use that method.

I went into a VZW premium dealer store (not corporate) yesterday and they didn't have either of the Razar or Rezound out. I asked about the Razor and they said they had one in the back. I cant imagine they sold out, but who knows. Guess I should have asked.
I think there trying to get rid of year end inventory. The SHSC (smoking hot sales chick) said they had already had there training and have the acessories in the back for the SGN. Shes getting one to upgrade from her TB.
If the SGN get pushed back to sell more Motorola's, especially the Razar, I for one wont buy one because of principal.
In fact I'd love to see a boycott organized if that turns out to be the case.
I agree. lets hope the next year thing is a rumor to sell a few more phones.

You guys are hilarious. Obviously the sales reps are unreliable. As I said, I and the others were just relaying the information received, whether accurate or not. Would you prefer that we not do that in the future? You're welcome to ignore it, I made no claims that it was good information.
With that said, those of you who are 'optimistic' about the 8th seem to be the same people who were 'optimistic' about November the 21st, the 17th, the 10th, the 3rd... a pattern is very very evident, guys. The leaks saying the 8th are no more reliable than the multiple in-store reps saying next year. We've been through this scene many times in this thread alone, and many times with other phones (Bionic and Thunderbolt in particular come to mind). I would work on accepting that fact rather than sticking your fingers in your ears and saying "la-la-la" every time it becomes more obvious the release is being pushed even further back.

This is a great thread, and rumors are somewhat fun. You have to understand how it lowers your credibility here when you are spouting rumors every few days and they are always wrong. I am guessing at this point there are many people here who dont believe a word that you say. Take that for what it is worth to you

You have to remember that Verizon Wireless reps/sales team does not have any inside information on when the Nexus is coming out. That's the number 1 thing that drives me insane as I read through the 1,000 pages (congratulations btw!!). I know 4-5 people who work with Verizon and they all say the same thing: "The focus is on what we have now. We need to sell what's on the floor and they'll never allow us to leak information that would push buyers away from a current product."
So please, stop asking people who work for Verizon. They do not know. That's been the Verizon way for a very long time. I know a few people with over 15 years experience.

Although I want this phone now, every day that goes by increases my chances of getting an early upgrade. My upgrade date is the 29th and I think I will have more luck getting it pushed up the closer the phone release actually is to my upgrade date. That is how I have to think about this because otherwise I would lose my mind waiting for this thing.

I can't wait until the first part of this week to see how much everything has changed here on this forum. The smiling faces the cheers the 'oh my God I can't wait I will be the first one in line'....
3 days so far of the gravy train of retail sales being missed, and this was not what Verizon invisioned for the release of GNex. There comes a point in the shopping season (say 12/11 or so) where if you have not at least made an major advertisement push (which would include an announcement) you may as well pack it all up and not waste your money. What I am trying to say is, you will get your announcement very very soon and you will get your phone soon after the only caveat I put on this prediction is if the phone is ready.
If the phone isn't ready then you may want to thank Verizon for taking one for it's consumers and missing out on millions in holiday sales and not releasing a sub par phone.

But we all know that nothing is certain unless it's officially announced. I would think that people can judge the credibility of a source themselves, but credibility =/= reliability or accuracy... I just relayed the information I was given and assumed it was reliable but, as it turns out, it wasn't.

Here, I'll help take the heat off you. In the spirit of disbelieving rumors, I don't think we've ever actually been given any proof that Hans' sister knew anything that wasn't already floating around the intarwebs, that we got any legitimate inside info... or even that he has a sister.

The only thing we should take to heart is this statement made by Verizon in their news press release.
"The Galaxy Nexus will be available later this year in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com."
That leaves us with 34 days left for them to make good on that announcement. Until they make a statement otherwise, that's the only thing I'm going to believe.
