Remember I had taken my meds and vitamains and had a cup of coffee,My stomache starts hurting so I ask to use the bathroom. Well I feel sorry for the NEXT customer but I DESTROYED the place,and just because I am old I forgot to flush.Sorry..........

Now this is my own take. It could just simply be a thing of a disagreement between people who say let's release it now and fix it later vs. those who say let's fix it now and release it later?

What are they testing? How can the phone be released in other parts of the world yet they are still testing here in the States? What is so different from an international Nexus to one that will be released here in the States that is causing such a hold up.

Heh we all knew the release of this phone was an epic fail weeks ago. Hopefully the execs will learn their lesson and not make the same mistake twice. At this point, they'd prob be better off releasing the phone now and fixing any issues as they go along, granted they are minor issues and not major issues. Otherwise they are on the verge of destroying any hype, excitement, and real opportunity of having the most powerful phone released. A matter of time before other companies catchup to build something even better. Every day this phone is delayed is another day it gets old in the technology world.
 
My prediction based on the last testing cycle. A new software release went out to people yesterday, we won't hear a thing for at least another 2 weeks. December 15th at the earliest is my bet at this point.

First off, if you believed some text/picture/comment/quote or whatever is inappropriate for this site, I'd ask that you please don't quote it. :D

That goes for everyone. Don't quote things that you think are bad. Makes the mods life tougher if they have to go and edit out the original, and the 30 people who quoted it.

OK, that was just a general comment.

As to the posting of this chat log, I believe the mod's ruling on that was no posting disrespectful chat logs. You all know the ones where people are chatting with CSRs, and badgering them for info, then commenting on how "clueless" they were.

I see a log where he politely asked for information, and didn't really comment negatively on it. Don't think it was necessarily bad, however, the mods will make a determination and we'll go from there.

However, let's not post any more CSR logs. They will all say the same thing......not available, here's the signup page. We don't need to stir up the natives any more than we are already.
 
dont forget people, that the last tester we had said that they typically test new updates for 5 days, and if they just got it yesterday, well you know what that means. no need to sit around and wait on an announcement today, because its not coming
 
As one of the folks who only pop into the forum/thread to check on availability, I have to say this much;
Every time I have to wade through dozens of pages of new zero-content for virtually no new information, it makes me less likely to bother the next time.

That's just me.

i'm wondering if VZW's commitment to ISIS involves some contractual issues/limitations that might preclude VZW from releasing a phone that offers Google wallet. that could explain the hold up on the release. i don't know - just a WAG...
 
My optimism is gone. Come Thursday, my wife or I will own a new phone. Both of us are struggling on our phones so I'm probably going to go pick up one ReZound to upgrade one of our lines. That way if/when the Nexus comes out we can go upgrade to it as well and we will know really quick which one to keep and which one to swap or if the wife wants the ReZound and I want the Nexus, etc..

Here is to hoping the person who wants the phone released sooner than later wins out over the person who wants to wait.

Typically, for consumer level products, they test that the bugs were fixed and a limited subset of the full testing, not the entire prodcut verification cycle again.

Put simply, At tune-up time, you don't go back and check your engines sparkplugs if the only thing wrong was you needed windshield washer fluid.

Just my $0.02...

I imagine the disagreement is between the execs who are concerned about the negative revenue impact of releasing several high-profile devices at (nearly) the same time and the Customer Care team who is tired of getting beat up by the public (i.e us).

Execs want the releases spaced out as far as possible to maximize sales and minimize returns/exchanges. Customer Care just wants all of us rabid dogs off their backs.
 
I think this will turn into a Nexus One launch. I'm afraid Verizon will pass on the Nexus brand again, but will they get a comparable alternative as was the Droid Incredible? And will anyone go for a skinned cop out of the Galaxy Nexus? I'm annoyed.

I would love to get a note on verizon with ics. The more screen the better to me. The aspect ratio looks better for reading or web related things. I never knew how much width you lose with 16.9 aspect ratio.

I use my phone for call but usually in my truck with bluetooth or home on speaker phone. After looking at the galaxy player i know 5 inches really makes the web and reading aps much more usable for me. I use my phone mostly for looking at things be that web, book, app, and bigger less scrolling wins to me.

Sooo I guess we can narrow the witch hunt down to males only! Find the Verizon insider! (Just kidding)

It's interesting to know that there is internal fighting within Verizon in regards to the Galaxy Nexus. I suppose that the "disagreement up at the top levels" could be between Verizon and Google, but I'm reading that more as within Verizon itself. If I had to guess, Verizon has groups responsible for the different manufacturers and obviously the Samsung group is on the losing end of the "release it ASAP" fight. I'm sure it's not the only reason, but the Motorola group has spent a fortune on all of the Razr commercials and a Nexus release will definitely have a negative impact on Razr sales.

In the end, I'm sure all of the Verizon execs realize that this phone HAS to be on the market for Christmas but they've already missed the highest shopping weekend of the year. That fact alone will certainly cause disagreement as no matter the reason there will be doubt about whether they maximized their potential sales.
