Good morning Nexaholix!

<snip> This after repeatedly hating Android due to her use of an OG Droid and 3 different HTC Droid Erii. .....

Can't believe I remember that drama. She hated those. And I can't believe you're calling them Erii!! Yikes, I'm telling Frisco. He darn near pulled out the Oxford dictionary on me.

As for the Rezound, good call if you didn't have anything comparable. I went this weekend and looked at the offerings and didn't see anything that jumped out at me that was way better than my TB. With ICS just around the corner I have no trouble waiting another month if that is the case. Without the TB, however, it might be a different call.

Peeps jumped down our throats for claiming Verizon was pushing the date back to separate competition, increase sales, and sell other phones first.. we were nutty conspiracy theorists if you will.

And this is why I never backed down from that statement ^^^ :D:D

Bugs.. lmao.

Yup, that was my take on it, too. And it seems to jive now...unfortunately ... :(

while waiting for the verizon nexus i was going to pickup a red dinc 2 to hold me over and now im showing thats gone from vzw.com!! damn you verizon!

I just got this in a PM from Han and wanted to share it with everyone. Granted, the news is troubling, but it's news, nonetheless. Please don't go crazy over it. Stay respectful and continue to love one another, please. :)

Corporate is debating whether to release this year or just announce this year. Hedging their bets in case they want to push it for Q1 earnings. Dec. 8 still possible, but decision not final.
"push it for Q1 earnings".....this is from Hannette who works for verizon...so even if this doesn't turn out to be the case, the fact that they are even saying stuff like this gives credence to the thought that Verizon is purposefully delaying the launch

But it makes a lot of sense...VZW is interested only in the bottom line, and if they feel Q4 revenue is good enough with the current phones and they can get away with pushing the Nexus to Q1 to increase Q1/2012 outlook/forecast, then they will absolutely do it. They've shown they don't care about their customers, only in their bottom line. From a pure money-grub bing/profit perspective, it makes a lot of sense. I for one am not expecting this until probably mid-January or even later. So I will most likely be waiting for my contract to expire and re-evaluating my options.

I wonder how many customers VZW is losing over this phone?

Not many.

In reality, they don't owe us anything. They owe the shareholders...., and, there is nothing wrong with that. Not releasing a phone when we demand isn't the same as "not caring about the customers" IMO. Even without the gn, when I call Verizon, I get great customer service. Not getting a phone when *I* desire doesn't change the fact that they actually do care about the customers. This gn thing isn't personal, its business. A relatively small portion of their customer base making is personal doesn't change that or make it "not caring about the customers." People leaving Verizon because they didnt release a phone to satisfy their own selfish needs is pretty childish if you ask me. The only losers in that case are the people that left..., it will in no way hurt verizon.

This is all just my humble opinion, of course.

I don't think logic will prevail in Verizon releasing the Nexus.

I said it yesterday, logic is not running the ship at VZW.

While I don't not beleive Hans sister, like others have said, she and others have been wrong before.

I think at this point any speculation without it coming from VZW I will treat as false until proven otherwise.

My letter to Verizon Executives:

Good Afternoon _________,

I am writing to you today to express my disgust and dissatisfaction with the way your company is handling the release of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Back on October 21st, Verizon released a press statement with that promise that the Galaxy Nexus "will be available later this year in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com." The current information I have from a trusted source is that Verizon Executives are considering pushing the release date of this phone back until Quarter 1 of next year in order to "maximize" profits.
If this rumor is true, this is an outrage. You specifically said that the Nexus would be released THIS year, not next. There are many patient customers out there that are waiting for the Nexus. They will not be buying a RAZR. They will not be buying a Rezound; or any devices listed on your "websales". In fact, I along with many others, are considering dropping our plans with you and going to another carrier who has phones such as the Samsung Galaxy SII, another phone which Verizon passed on.

It is incredible how Europe has this phone already, Canada's carriers are readying an early December release and one of Japan's carriers just announced a December 2nd release for their version of the Galaxy Nexus. Are you going to make us believe that the phone is "still in testing"; because no one on the internet buys that excuse.

Another mind boggling facet in this whole debacle is that fact that Verizon has remained mute on the whole thing. Many of the Customer Service representatives I have spoken to act like the Galaxy Nexus does not even exist. It is pathetic and a testament to the lack of communication and preparedness of the employees in your company.

To reiterate, if Verizon is really looking to "maximize" their sales, release this phone quickly. If Verizon fails to do this, I will cancel my plan and I am positive many others who have been holding their breathes for months will as well.

Verizon will lose another potential customer if they don't release it this year. I was willing to give up my unlimited data on AT&T for it, but I'm not going to reward their bottom line when that seems to be their only concern. Unfortunately it makes sense since all of the Verizon tweets are now saying "will be announced this year."

Wondering if anyone has a "drop dead" date, meaning if the device isn't announced by a certain time, they will no longer purchase it. I have a Thunderbolt with an extended battery that works fine, so I'm not in a huge hurry, but I think if this is pushed into next year I'll probably wait and see what other manufacturers are doing with ICS.

If it isn't announced by Thursday then I don't see it being released on the 8th so I am out to the ReZound which I played with this morning (new girl in the office got hers last week). Music sounds crystal clear.

How in the world does Google/Samsung not have a contract with Verizon regarding when this phone will be released? This is ridiculous - right now Big Red has all the power, why isn't Google and Samsung fighting for it?

It's selfish to leave a company because they don't have a device I want? So I should just take some crapware-ridden device VZW sales people push on me and be happy about it, eh? Choice is good, and if I can get a better device on a different carrier, I'll speak with my money, thanks.

To be fair, Hanette did not say next year. She said it was being discussed as an option.

And to think, I told my wife I would get the Nexus for her bday back on Nov 1st. Then I told her xmas, now it looks like that's not even going to happen.

Well, like I said, I currently am a shareholder in mutual funds in my retirement account which contain Verizon. I will switch, because I don't see this as a good business practice, even from a profit point of view. If they wait till after the holiday return period to release this phone, it will be after CES. Even getting close to CES is beyond comprehension to me. Does Verizon not understand who it is that is hyping this phone? When there is another device announced, this phone will be left by the wayside.

Can't view it..."Only confirmed followers have access to @fancy_that's Tweets"

opps, there's a reason for that :) it's below...

You didnt really send this, did you?

Let me get this straight...so back in the beginning of the month, the Razr and Rezound come out. Back then people were saying, well they aren't releasing the Nexus because they want to give the other two a chance to sell first, but nobody is buying them because either A. both phones are somewhat lacking, or B. they are waiting for the Nexus. That was a generally accepted theory among most, with this thread's sources as well as Han's sister saying the same.

Fast forward to today...Razr and ReZound are out but still very new. Sales numbers aren't even close to coming out. Now people are saying, well you know, the Razr and ReZound sales are enough to satiate Verizon's Q4, so they will release the Nexus in Q1 since they probably already met their target.

Folks, do you see how flawed this is? Not even two weeks ago you were stating paragraph 1, and now all of a sudden paragraph 2 has to be it? This is crazy!

It's either one or the other, or neither, but not both. So we get one little speculative piece of insider info, which may or may not be the case, and everyone flies off the handle? Willing to go back on the previous 2-3 weeks of thought on the drop of a dime? It's kinda ludicrous when you think about it.

I'm not doubting Han's sister told us what she heard, but I believe even Han said that she isn't in a position where she will know for sure, so she hears "office whispers". She did say the phone would be out definitively the week of Thanksgiving. She's been wrong before. Why get all upset?

And if you clear your head and really think about a Q1 release, it makes no sense. Nobody buys anything in Q1. The phone WILL flop. They may as well scrap the launch at that point. A Q1 launch will not happen.
