So how do I get it quicker? In-store or pre-order online/telesales? How's everyone else planning on purchasing?

If there is a pre-order, I prefer to go that route. That way there is a chance of getting it early (and probably a chance of getting it later, too) and I am the first one to put my grubby hands on it. Also, with the DroidX, those who pre-ordered got a package of stickers and a t-shirt which was nice (though it was XL and I wear a medium. The thing is a tent on me). Finally, if there is a rush to get them, pre-orderers won't have to stand in lines or mingle with the unwashed masses. :)

I'm dumb enough to pay for next day shipping as well.

An online pre-order will be tempting. But I know Verizon requires signatures on delivery, and I'll be at work. That means stopping by my local FedEx on my way home, which luckily is right around the corner from my office.

The alternative is going to the store on my lunch break on launch day....

Wait what? I've got about 15 phones delivered via FedEx and never had to sign. Just found them on doorstep. Course, none were brand new phones, all refurb..

if the pre-order could mean i might get the phone early, i'd probably do that. i just have packages sent to work, so they get signed for.

You can leave a note with your signature on it taped to your door, depending on the driver they'll usually accept it and leave the package right there. I've done it many times :).

at this point I'm just hoping that they release two different phones. 16GB/32GB since the phone doesn't have any removable memory. I don't want to pay $299 for 32GB. Please release a 16GB Verizon!

beggars can't be choosers, I'll take whatever they release....that will mean it finally released.

And Top Gun = best movie of all time

Today both my wife and I are elligible for the $50 discount when we upgrade....makes it really tempting to go get a ReZound....

I'll be ordering online (pre-order or not). I don't have anytime during the work day to get to the Verizon store and the closest one near where I work is about 20 miles away. At least with shipment I can ask them to hold at my local Fedex location and pick it up after work.

Also, I want to be the first one to handle my phone. I don't like it when the store employees open up the package and activate the device for me.

Good morning all - me and my mild headache would like to personally guarantee that we will not see a November release of the Nexus. Sorry to disappoint everyone.

Same here for a lot of packages. The nice thing about Apple is you can pre-sign for it on their website. I did it with the iPhone 4S and it was a nice option.

Interesting, we're they from VZW or warranty replacement or from Assurion?

AFIK, VZW always requires signatures on phones. Maybe you have a nice delivery guy that bent the rules...

On a side note, there is always a reason behind their signature madness, especially if you live in a not-so-good neighborhood.

Sure dont want some little brat running away with my $700 Gnex :D

Although this isnt a problem for me living in Bergen NJ, but I am sure a lot of people have concerns over this!

So I would take the 23rd over the stairs.

I've never fallen down them before, but I imagine you'd break valuable body parts.

Anyone catch the x factor last night? If so, did anyone notice that Blanket Jackson was about as animated as, well, a blanket?

Same here. All my refurbs that were replaced by Verizon never required a signature.

Good morning G'nexers.

Seems like we are down to the final week -- I can't believe we have all made it this far without killing someone yet. It's been quite a ride and I wouldn't have had it any other way. This thread is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to spend some more OT time with you in whatever thread comes next (GNex Lounge?), but this next week is going to be torture now that we know its true. I hope there is a presale so that I can have a chance of getting my device a day early and I would love for it to be $199.

I still think we will see some type of announcement today for some reason. My GNex senses are tingling.

An official announcement today would be a breath of fresh air for us weary Nexans. Fingers crossed for that and the $199 price tag. I'm thinking at least the lower price isn't going to happen.
