***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Very questionable source. They are interchangeably referring to both the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus S. They say that "hackers have found a way to get Google Wallet working on the Galaxy Nexus", but they are actually referring to the Nexus S. They also state the release date as being January 2012. Also, not only has Verizon not said anything about Google Wallet support, but they list no sources for their info whatsoever.

This article is based on pure speculation, and poor speculation at best, considering they can't keep their Nexus phones straight.

Where can I find that TPU case? Does Verizon carry it? Is it as protective as the otterbox cases are because I dont want my baby do get hurt. ;)

If you're looking for indestructability, Otterbox is a good choice, but do they even make one yet? The tpu is more of a low profile solution for basic scratch protection, but they're available on Amazon for like $6

Btw ... went to my local verizon store sunday (Lex. area, KY) and was told Nexus accessories were onsite, "in the back". Rep said phone should be here "very soon". So, nothing earth shattering, of course, but atleast it was an acknowledgement from a vzw rep, which are hard to get!

So .. just wanted to pass along my story.

Wish I was in NYC to get a hands-on at that Sammie store.
but, anyway ... looks like it will be a good weekend!

Didn't someone say that typically these PRs are first sent out to tech sites and blogs before it gets posted to their own site? I get the feeling we're probably going to see word from one of them before Verizon's site. Although, it would be a nice surprise if it popped up there beforehand.

Yeah that is how first PR went down in Oct. I think BGR had it first, and then all the other usual suspects seconds later.

Who knows with how this launch is going lol.

While cases are being discussed, anyone know of a lightweight (thin) bumper case, like the bumper iPhone case?

I want to leave my screen and back uncovered but find the phone a little slippery and am paranoid I'll drop it. I'd like an ultra thin silicone bumper, just to add some extra grip.

Idk if they make bumper cases for phones other than the iphone. At least I have never seen any.

This is a bunch of crap with no evidence to back it up. The ONLY thing that is known is that Wallet won't come pre-installed on the Nexus when it ships. It does not mean that Verizon has anything to do with it, or that it is anything other than Google ironing out something in Wallet before rolling it out to the masses.

Blunt titles like that one are designed to gain hits, not to be factually accurate. The author has no source or any information to back up the claim that it will not be supported.

Did anyone note the fact that, yes, the Nexus S supports Wallet... but on a different version of Android? Just because someone shoe-horned it into ICS doesn't mean that it's ready for prime time on that OS.

I feel like if we're going to see anything, it'd be tomorrow. Let their last sale end, and give the Nexus a 48-72 hour preorder if there is one. Seems like the more likely scenario to me. Can they really let this thing go on much longer? (Yup.)

BTW, on Twitter, @VZWNews posted about the 1 year "birthday" of LTE, and every single response is along the lines of "Great - now give us the Nexus to use on it."
