Anyone have any idea what the black letters on the bottom of this picture would be?

Looks like "A04R9" to me. I don't know why. It just does.

I have no idea about the numbers, but what struck me was the stainless steel that it is on.

I used to work as a sorter for UPS and the boxes would come down these big slides that looked just like this.

Boxes of everything used to come down and break open, maybe this is that???

Just pure spectulation, but maybe they are being shipped right now.

Except the article itself mentions they might not be arriving in stores.

true but i doubt they would have the phone, manual and all cables in a box that still needs to be printed. i think this is more of a demo unit for stores or even a review unit to be shipped.

What a Monday!! So while I was getting ready for work, my husband decided to "update" my Fascinate. Why? I asked him because I'm getting a NEW PHONE soon! Well, he is a techy and just "HAD" to do it! HE BRICKED IT!!!! ACK! So I am back on the old OG Droid that doesn't work worth a crap! I can barely make phone calls, and a text, but that is it! No contacts, no email, no facebook, no browser, no music! So he was on the phone with VZ all morning, and they decided that they would fulfill the insurance and send me a "new" one. Should be here tomorrow. Great! So...now he will probably give me a hard time about getting a Nexus...oh well! Just look at it this way, I'll have a newer phone to sell once I do get my GNex!

I had an og and bought a cheap fascinate and loaded it with ics. The droid was so painful to use luckily the fascinate is much better to hold me over until the nexus launches.

  • Two hot new Xyboard DROID tablets from Motorola coming out this month
  • One anxiously awaited GALAXY Nexus smartphone running Android™ 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, from Samsung, coming soon
If I were Negative Nancy, I'd question why the tablets are "coming out this month" while the Nexus is "coming soon"...

Darn ninjas -- never even saw them coming...

That's was my thought - cause not many places would have a stainless table like that and a number at the bottom as well

Virtually impossible to brick a Fascinate so he can't be too techy. ;)

The big thing keeping me positive is Phil over at AC saying that stores are receiving phones already and saying we should probably see some nice leaks this week.

He is probably my most trusted source though especially since he checks and double checks everything before he posts it to keep his credibility.

Did he say exactly how he knows this for sure?

Actually, that could just be the GSM version. In fact, it is the GSM version. I am sure Verizon isn't going to keep the boxing the same, maybe they'll finally be keeping something vanilla, FOR ONCE!
Here is the box shown in an unboxing video from 12/3/11.
From December 3, 2011

It has a picture of the phone on the front. And a picture of the side of the phone on the side of the box. Not plain white.

I am not experienced enough in retail to debate with you on this point. However it should be known that the sales aspect of the argument is a moot point. The Samsung Experience does not sell ANYTHING in the store. It is strictly a demo shop for all things Samsung.

(I just looked this up)

Okay, so the point about them removing it because it was creating too much buzz and commotion makes even less sense, no?

ok keep believing that. You cannot do anything after 14 days.

I'm not planning on doing anything outside 14 days or making an exchange at all. That is how the exchange was explained to me by customer service. There is a big difference between a return and an exchange. Why are you so upset?

WOW! Keep him away from your Nexus! No telling what he may try to do with it. "Step away from the NEXUS, sir!" :)

Why are people questioning the packaging? It could very well just be a display unit and that's how they may ship them so the sales reps know what has apps pre-installed etc.

I don't know, the fact that it isn't a retail box doesn't upset me, I'm pretty happy to see a manual with the VerizonWireless logo on it.
