***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Verizon has multiple systems. It took them four years to update my name and address in all of them after I got married. They would correct it in one system at a time, and inevitably, either on the phone or in a store, somebody would find the old info in their system. One Rep finally got it changed everywhere and told me they had anumber of different systems that aren't linked together. I wonder if their systems are similar for phones?

There is a quicker way... Forget to pay your bill one month. They will have your info updated within a week.

You know people are taking this too seriously when they start quoting the Bible to help them carry on and remain positive. Of course I've been leaning on the wisdom contained in Philippians 4:8 lately, as the wait drags on. lol.

lol. Amen brother. :)

I'm still hopeful for a release this week. But it's 50/50.
I am still hopeful for pre-order on Wednesday 12/7 and in-store on Friday 12/9.

If it doesn't drop this week, I'll survive, but I may walk around in a state of deep depression all next (this?) weekend...

This.

BS is at an all-time high. I don't think anyone here is lying through their teeth (although obviously that's a possibility), but I think the store reps and CSR's are not being very truthful in a lot of instances.

When we pare it down to the core, we have this:

1. There is some kind of a button that was sent out. This has been confirmed by a system screen.

2. There is a regional priority meeting set for this Thursday morning.

That's it.

My first thought about that Thursday meeting was that no way was it releasing the same day as the meeting. Even Friday was pushing it. So I'll bet it's some time next week (hopefully).

I look at it this way,If the phone goes on sale I will be thrilled with it.It will be my first Android phone. If its not released I still get enough chuckles from this thread that I am not completely dissapointed.I actually come here to see what has been posted off topic as well as on topic. This thread has worked itself into my daily grind.

What I find amazing is how some VZW store sales guys can go in and look at their computer and say 'yeah, it'll be out on the 8th or 9th' and others can stare at the same screen and say there's no info.

So either they're looking at different parts of the VZW site or being less than honest.

Last week I had a sales associate tell me outright that they were reviewing a "non-Verizon" site for information.

I think some are looking at their site of choice and stating the rumors as fact, since they know nothing from Verizon directly.

I'm not surprised that the CSRs know nothing. I work for a large corporation, and I can attest to the fact that while I am no way on the "front line" like a CSR, I still know nothing until the company announces it publicly.

The big thing keeping me positive is Phil over at AC saying that stores are receiving phones already and saying we should probably see some nice leaks this week.

He is probably my most trusted source though especially since he checks and double checks everything before he posts it to keep his credibility.

OT - Google Maps - Navigation
I know there's a maps blog somewhere, but I have faith and trust in this group: I use navigation quite a bit doing flower deliveries. At one point in time, after you reach your destination, an option would be "Next Destination", but that has been replaced with "Destination not at this location" a few updates ago. It's become a real pain, because to go to another destination, you have to back out and start over. Does anyone use Nav/Maps on a regular basis? Am I missing an option setting somewhere? Can't find it. Thanks.

If stores have started receiving stock, I would think that there would be pics of GNex boxes online by now.

I'm going to my little brother's college graduation, and if I don't have my Nexus, I'm going to be self medicating the depression.

I trust Phil, too, but the lack of blurry pics of boxes arriving isn't a good sign.

Is anyone going to happily hand their money to Verizon when this thing finally does launch? We used to be so happy, gleefully talking about walking out of the store with a Nexus. Now, we're all so jaded that not even good news is greeted with open arms. We've been trying to give them our money for weeks and weeks, and it's kind of sad that we still will after all we've gone through. But at this point, the phone is worth it, and I may be going to the bank and picking up a whole lot of change to pay for this phone with, just out of spite.

It will be released on Friday. I have an appointment to get mine at 9 am on Friday! The manager told me that he does not have them in stock yet and we'll be getting them by Wednesday. He also told me that he doesn't have pricing yet either. He guesses that it will be around the $299 to $249 price point.
