Part of me wonders if these CSRs have read the rumors, and are scheduling for friday appts, figuring most likely it will be out by then (without any official news telling them so). Getting a customer in the store is half the battle.
 
I just called my store and the rep said it would be out soon. She also said she was winking while she said it as well as saying she was doing air quotes when she said the word "soon". I asked about the 8th or 9th and she said "no" but then she told me she was nodding while she answered.

Hope this clears everything up.

OK, I just got a call from the Verizon store that I left my name with this morning. They called me and asked me to tell me that they will be selling the Galaxy Nexus on Friday 12/9. They said that they would reserve one for me if I wanted it. I've already reserved it at another store, so I passed. The store is the Citrus Park store in Tampa. You can call to confirm if you want!!!

Yep, we can definitely NOT expect a launch this week. I see all evidence pointing toward the 15th. ;)

Yeah I went that way cause i was gonna try and stop by.. but the wifey wouldnt let me, in her defense we were almost late anyways..

By the sound of it we live near each other..

I live off Shepard Rd in the subdivision across from the school on the corner of lunn and shepard.. Normally I take harden up and cross on 92

On the phone with the 3rd corp store, he said without hesitation it looks like the 9th, but then I asked his where he is getting his info. Then he puts me on hold and says they it's either the 8th or the 9th. I asked him again where he received his information from he said Verizon.

He went on to say they usually have meetings on Friday but they have changed it to Thursday which usually indicates they have a big launch happening. Before he hung up with me I heard someone talking to him and said Thursday or Friday for sure, and he said that was my manger that just said Thursday or Friday. :D:):D

Got it. It was actually released last week, and we have been too busy F5ing this page to actually go to a store and pick it up!

I, for one, believe that the phones WILL be available, at some locations, this Thursday or Friday. We've seen a different response from corp stores from in the past, to today, with stores now scheduling appointments, admitting a release date of the 9th, some saying in stock this week, etc. Like I said earlier, the district manager told me last week, specifically, that THEY would have the phones released on the 8th (although a sales rep and the store manager at that same store gave me the same spill about not knowing when, etc.)

There are too many various stores saying the same thing now, to think they don't have some info in their system. I don't think they are just looking up info on "the internet" at this point, but we'll see. I wanna be optimistic...my cup is 1/2 full! :)
