I'm going to finally kick the bucket and get my homework done! Wish me luck and I'll check back in before I go to sleep tonight (oh I just remembered the websale ends tonight... well I'll probably be up until then doing homework anyways)

Do it. I called one store and they told me they had no idea, so I tried another store and the guy put my name down.

I just called mine,They put a note in the computer to notify me when they get a confirmed date. I shmoozed him a bit by telling him that I like to deal with a person and not buy it online.I also dropped a name of the last rep that helped me and that he was the reason that I am calling now.

Tried again. Opened Google Music, swyped until Albums is highlighted with the underline, scrolled down to an album, long pressed and selected play, listened to first song (Brad Paisley Mud on the Tires), song over, no more music :( I am on Incredible, 2.3.4 not rooted.

Is it weird that I had a dream about getting the Galaxy Nexus? I was so depressed when I woke up and it wasn't there :(

I live just 30 minutes away from the NYC Samsung Experience store but I refuse to go there. As much as I want to try out Galaxy Nexus and its Ice Cream Sandwich goodness, I want it to be my very own Galaxy Nexus straight out of the box ;)

To those of you who tried it out at the store, thank you for sharing your experiences/pictures here! It definitely made me want it even more :p

I couldnt imagine sales folks making such gestures to customers w/ out some type of internal information unless this forum is so freaking powerful we have become the 'source' in absence of VZW lack of information. My God didn't someone say something a week ago about this forum becoming self aware.

Antecdotally though if this is the case I think everyone here should get a smile from the fact we are steering some of this momentum, maybe significantly.

Verizon's flag ship is the "Droid". Whenever advertising is released, it's mostly the Moto Droid with maybe another device as a side line. The Galaxy Nexus is to be released with no branding and almost no Verizon bloatware.

I don't agree. The top selling android phone this season in the world has been the Samsung Galaxy S2 which has been named as phone of the year by a few companies.

Initially Verizon was going to have one of these phones but they ended up not getting it. (Charge doesn't count). This is an important phone for Verizon that fills that gap and makes Verizon a leader among the Samsung handsets. This is really the only GAP in the Verizon lineup.

Verizon will be playing this phone against all the Galaxy S2 models and will use it to keep customers that might have otherwise left for this top selling android model.

Why leave VZW for the Galaxy S2 when you could stay for the Galaxy Nexus?
 
OK here's another CSR story from one of the bigger VZW Corp. stores i called in my area.

ME: I'd like to schedule an appointment to pickup the Galaxy Nexus this Friday.
REP: Oh, i see. You trying to skip the lines or something?
ME: No, i just heard a few other stores are taking appointments to pick up the device so people can schedule better around work.
REP: Hold on, let me speak with my manager. We don't usually have appointments for new releases
(Christmas Music with Droid Razr plug)
REP: Sir, I can take down your information and give you a call once more information is available.
ME: Sure, can i ask if you have gotten any stock in?
REP: No, we haven't yet, which is unusual for a device launching this week.
ME: I was told it was launching on either the 8th or 9th.
REP: Well, i guess if you've heard already, the 9th is the launch date but isn't publicly available.
ME: Did you hear that from online or from internally?
REP: I don't really follow online, it's all a bunch of BS.
ME: Do you have any accessories in for the Nexus?
REP: No, (he laughs) we don't have that in yet either.
ME: Ok and you don't think you're doing a midnight release on Thursday?
REP: No, i dont think so. We have never done one of those but i will probably have more information tomorrow and can give you a call then.
ME: 650-555-5555. Thanks for your time.

Try an uninstall then reinstall. Do all albums do it? Do you have a headset or audio cable plugged into the phone?

Agree plus the fact that they were making appointments at midnight and I know if a rep did that for me and then stood me up or made me go there for nothing it would be the last time I ever took my business to that rep/store.

How far OCed are you guys? Im on 7.1 as well but i have to have it at around 768max 480min *screen off* to keep spotify running in the background. Other than this and the charging issue it seems to be running alright lol

I second your thesis. Taking these appointments then not following through would really botch their credibility as sales people and their stores which would be pretty bad considering they're paid on commission!
 
I mentioned this earlier a few million posts ago...but I called 2 Corp stores and they knew absolutely nothing...then I called one more store (I didn't even realize it was a corp store) and bingo! the 8th or 9th he said he wasn't sure. I heard his manager in the background repeat the 8th or 9th.

He claimed they have usually have meetings on Friday but their meeting was changed to Thursday he said they have only done that previously when a big launch is coming.

I did ask if his info was gleaned from the internet he laughed and said no it was not.

I just talked to my local corp store, he said nothing official yet they are just waiting for AF to make an Official PR of when it is being released. Come on Steven, we are waiting on you!!!! :D
 
I'm usually very optimistic.

I just called 5 stores in the area.

"nothing"

"haven't even got training information"

"no demo units here, usually get them a week before hand"

"but sometimes they just throw stuff at us and we go from there"

Could be getting ran around, one guy was very opened and said he wish he really knew and even talked about forum rumors and said "I really would tell you if I knew something bro" lol - eh.

Also in one store I was in earlier today the girl when questioned couldn't really keep a straight face and didn't really answer with words, just nods/shakes.. said "we've got accessories but nothing else"

I don't know how you guys can call all these stores and get these definite answers >.> lol

edit: we're talking Central Massachusetts area.

We're both OCed to 710, mine is unstable at anything higher.
 
Ahhh I can't start my homework with all these awesome sources coming in and confirming this release! I have a countdown timer on my desktop. Only a little more than 2 days left! And we've been waiting for nearly 2 months for this :O
