***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Ive been faithfully lurking this thread and I must say, I really really hope it gets here by the end of this week. My Eris refuses to charge unless i hold it "just the right way". I got the bionic when it launched, returned it within a day. It just was not a good phone. When i spend 200+ for a phone it better be exactly what i want.

TLDR:
My eris barely works i need a GNex as much as all of you. Thank you for keeping me company over the last few months as no one else caters to my love for phones (especially this one) like you guys.

Are my wife and I the only ones who have Eris's that still work perfectly (running CM7 and overclocked of course). Had mine since release day on Nov 9th 2009 and it still works great for what it is.

Lets flip the page for a bit here, I'm getting sick of the same posts being recycled over and over again...I ask your opinion on a previous post which I got no response to:

Anyone know of any good chill music? I'm not really into the popular scene- I listen to a lot of Hawaiian themed Reggae, Jack Johnson, a little dub/dance..Would love to check out some new stuff!

Thank you for your much needed insight.

Ok so it sounds like VZW corporate stores are taking appointments for buying the Gnex this Friday??? Score!

Has any one tried to call Best buy or other retailers? Does it still look like the 11th for them??

This has probably already been covered.

Verizon's flag ship is the "Droid". Whenever advertising is released, it's mostly the Moto Droid with maybe another device as a side line. The Galaxy Nexus is to be released with no branding and almost no Verizon bloatware.

The Galaxy Nexus has no Verizon connection except that they are going to sell it.
The phone means nothing to them and neither does ICS, which does nothing for them, except to allow the disabling their software.

I think we'll see a roll out by Verizon that says " Oh, here's another Android phone ". Just another phone.

It's a big deal to Samsung and to Google, but not to Verizon

Motorola obviously is Verizon's love child...but keep in mind they don't care ultimately which smartphone you decide to get it's all about that 2 years of your money they know they will get from you. I'm sure they are glad too see you pony up $200 -$300 up front but what they really want is that $30 data plan on top of the monthly.

That's where the real money is for them.

Hey guys,

Just to let you know, I deleted a few posts discussing banned members. Not kosher to do that, so we'll just just move on. Thanks!

Nope. My father-in-law has my old Eris with the gargantuan extended battery and it's smooth as butter. Thing is built like a tank!

Oh nice, If you feel like driving all this way I can give you the store number/loc and the guys name I spoke to to hold one for you. But you might want to try somewhere closer like Columbia.

but if they don't then hey, Gnex party in chucktown! lol

Do you mind if I get that location?I live in Summerville and work in North Chuck.

Can I ask a dumb question?

I've always purchased online... but we do have two corporate stores right up the street. What's the difference between the two?

Originally, online had cheaper prices. I don't find that to be the case anymore. So what's the difference between the two?

Off topic sitcom discussion:
It was John Cleese's project after Monty Python quit. It was on BBC. Classic. Only aired for two seasons. Think of your traditional British comedy- smart, sophisticated, mildly dry. Now mix in John Cleese's Monty Python influences and you've got a winner.

No doubt there, he is one of my dad's all time favs, as is monty python, I'll have to find a torrent of it to download and watch with my dad...it'll be a blast!!! Who knows, my dad may have heard of it...getting ready to go to his house, will have to ask him. Thanks!!!

I don't get why people think this isn't a big deal for Verizon. Why wouldn't it be? They're the exclusive carrier for what's being called "the best smartphone on the market" by multiple reviewers. Plus, they have a dedicated site for it (vzw.com/galaxynexus just brings you to the signup page now but it will eventually be a big thing I think).

because verizon looks at it as they are unable to bloat it up so they won't make as much money off of it as they will with other phones. That is why it will not get much attention. What phone that is not droid branded got a ton of fanfare from verizon(minus the iphone)?

I was going to try to call my local VZW store, but on my 1st attempt it hung up immediately. 2nd and 3rd attempts were a busy signal?! wow...
