It's probably wishful thinking and I doubt it too, but just in case... you KNOW what I'll be doing 12/8!
Absolutely. You'll be on this thread looking to see if anyone was successful at getting their hands on one before heading for a corporate store yourself.

me too.

I imagine everyone will be unlocking the boot loader as soon as they get this phone, the directions are a bit confusing in the root section, so can someone lay out some simple newbie directions that we can all understand? Please:confused:

There's a great walk through on droid life for it, I'm on mobile or I would post the link but it's still on the front Page

They are coming from one of the main mods at rootzwiki. There is no chance he would stake the reputation of the website on faked documents.

I disagree. Just look at all the traffic they've received in less than one day. Everyone wants in on the nexus leaks. If they're fake, oh well, people will say it was likely true at one point but things change. No harm done.

Sure you can, otherwise McDonalds would sell Coke and Pepsi.

It's not quite the same; I'm not sure if it gets into a monopolistic realm since three carriers are offering ISIS, but it's anti-competitive since it's blocking a competing product from entering the market since VZW, AT&T and T-Mo are a majority of mobile providers available to the public.

But the bigger problem might be the stacking of industries. Remember not too long ago there was talk of Google buying a stake in T-Mobile? There were a lot of anti competitive cries there before it fizzled, claiming it would give Google an unfair advantage in the marketplace, and reduce competition since T-Mo has such a wide subscriber base. It would be up to the courts to decide. They'd have a lot more heartburn now, if Google is able to complete the deal with Motorola Mobility.

I'll be watching this with a lot of interest. A lot of it is going to depend on how the public & media react, and whether the feds think it's worth pursuing.

I don't know about rootzwiki, but here the Mods are volunteers who have no skin in the game to drive viewership, especially by posting knowingly false, or even suspect info.

Your forgetting that everything is a game of money. This only means one thing on the internet (reputation or not)...webpage hits.

Lurker, first time poster. Just caught this bit in a WSJ article about Verizon blocking Google Wallet:

Verizon said it is still working out security and other issues around mobile payments.

"We're working to provide expanded services that will provide the best security and user experience in the market around m-commerce," Verizon Wireless spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said. "We expect to provide access to an open wallet when those goals are achieved."

Verizon isn't preloading Google Wallet on the phone, but won't prevent users from downloading it from Google's app store as long as it gets cleared, a person familiar with the matter said.

So it sounds like they *will* allow it... but I'm worried that 'as long as it gets cleared' is referring to their BS 'security' concerns.

If this is true, it is fantastic!

Apparently I can't post links in my first post, but you can find it on google news or WSJ.com

Lordy lordy...........without flying through 25+ pages now, has it been confirmed when and if we can pre-order the phone? We know the 9th is the day. Two day shipping would mean the phone would have to ship tomorrow so possible pre-orders tonight? Or no?

I watched this last night and thought of something. If you disable this app and it removes the Google search bar at the top then you arrange your icons and apps in that spot and turn Google search back on will it re size your apps and put the search button back at the top or will it not show up since there are items in that space already? Just my question of the day... Side note. Who's ready for their Galaxy Nexus?

CBS did. So never say never.

look up the 2004 show 20 minutes two, hosted by Dan Rather. Oh you've never heard of it? probably because everyone involved was fired after they did a story based on a memo which they could not authenticate and claimed that GW Bush had dodged the draft during Vietnam.

The real fun with this whole Google Wallet thing is when VZW announces that using Isis will cost 4.99 a month.

It was posted earlier on this site that if you disable the google search bar that space can not be occupied by anything else.

I can see how most would expect them to charge for the service, but I don't see that they will, as I'm certain they'll get a percentage of the charges, which they probably don't with Google Wallet.

That's what I'm worried about, or a small service charge for every use. They're not blocking google wallet to not make money off of their product, so you know they're going to get money out of ISIS somehow. Will it come as a charge to the consumer or the merchants?

Does anyone know if Costco or the VzW corporate stores will verify employee discounts already on the account?

I no longer work for the company that had a VzW discount, and my new company has a much smaller one with ATT :( ... If I get the gn online, I think it automatically carries forward, so to be safe and hopefully keep the discount, I would order online.

When my wife and I ordered or OGs online, we had to wait for delivery while all the cool kids were playing with theirs... we don't want to make that mistake again!

You can try PMing YankeeDudeL he works for Costco and was a huge help for explaining the discount on the Bionic release.
Also, welcome to the forums!

Unfortunately, you can't put widgets in the spot where the search bar used to be.

EDIT: Ninja'd, of course.
