Steven has confirmed and spoken with the sales associate that I talked to. He has asked me NOT to post that information because the sales associate is afraid it will cost him/her job.

I do not want to be responsible for that. What I would encourage you to do is call all of the corporate stores around you until you find one that is willing to do what they promised me they would for me.

Yes, I know it's only folklore that Bill said that 640k memory was enough for anyone.

Yes, I know that 64k is really 2^16 = 65,536.

Yes, I know the unsigned integer range for that is 0 to 65,535.

Yes, I know that the signed integer range for that is -32768 to 32767.

But I also know that we're not going to hit 640k so that I could make that ridiculous excuse for a joke at a later time.

But 64k is what you'd get on an Apple ][+ (including AppleSoft from Microsoft) and an additional "language card" (16k extra memory) and people got that to run CP/M, a better OS.

And in the spirit of Android kicking WinPhone and iOS butt, and the Nexus kicking the iP4s and anything we're seeing coming out from Nokia with Windows, I would assert that my little attempt at humor is mathematically correct.

Plus, I was just in the mood to say Android is kicking everyone's butt.

I'm fairly certain that on the phone I can get them to honor that $50 NE2 discount that I missed two years ago. I've got my bank statements to prove that I didn't receive it then, and my contract will show I was elligible at the time. Since they can't do it in store, I'd lose that possibility.

Yeah, I have one on my DX...had it since day 1, and LOVE IT! I got the Crystal clear version - you truly can't tell there is a protector on my phone. As soon as these are available for the GN I'll be putting one of these on.

My daughter got the Zagg on her iPhone...no thank you. They have a sticky feel to them, orange peel...not for me!

I am in, but i do have a question? are you saying that we would have to pay with a Credit Card? what about putting it on our bill? Also that we would not be able to use our NE2 discount?

Or you could just order it yourself when it releases since he said that's all she is doing for you....
 
we're NOT going to see a Pre-Order at this point, and most likely we're NOT going to see any new changes to the website @ 12 midnight until AFTER the phone comes out. We just gotta sit back and wait until the 8th/9th at this point.

Maybe the responsible thing for you to do would have been to not tell anyone about this before checking to see if it was ok.

Nobody has leaked anything official about online or presales, yet. I'm assuming worst case scenario for us is 12:01 am day of the launch for us folk that have to order online. But nothing has been confirmed by anyone.
 
Calm down, you are acting like this is going to be the only store to have the phone on thursday. If one corporate store has them, others will too.
 
I'm getting nervous about possibly missing out on the phone, because despite all these reports of stores confirming the 9th and even holding onto the phones for people, my store is CLUELESS. Or terrific actors/actresses who tell me they have no idea.

So what do I do? Go stalk the store at opening on the 8th and 9th in the hopes they finally either get a clue or can admit the phone is there? Or am I screwed and my particular store isn't getting any? I just think it's REALLY strange that no one at my store seems to think it's coming anytime soon. And if I wait until they ack it, I might wind up missing out (out of stock) and waiting a month+ like people had to do for the dinc.

Any advice on how to handle this? See VZW, THIS is what happens when you're so tight lipped. Instead of announcing a date, you pull this crap. :mad:
 
Just called a local store (Best Wireless) who sells VZW phones asked about Nexus they told me they had in stock couldn't sell till 12th but would let me play with it
 
It would be nice if VZW could throw the online people a bone and let us order/ship the day before to receive it the same time as everyone else. Verizon... do you hear me???
