Long time lurker, first time poster. Been following this thread for quite a long now. I stopped by the corporate store outside of Concord Mills in Concord, NC. I told him I heard Friday was the release date and he said "Well, we're not supposed to say anything."

I asked the guy if they had a list, he said they did. He took my name and phone number and said he would call later to set up an appointment. After he entered everything into the system he said, without thinking, "Talk to you in a couple of days." So here's hoping :)

That one is closest to home but we had to go to Northlake mall tonight so I went to that store instead. They let me play with one and also gave me an appointment for Friday. :D
 
I officially can't keep up with you guys AND girls! And I've read WAY more in this forum than I have in any book in the last couple years... I'm not sure what that says about me...

Store rep: "umm, sure!"
Me: "What do you mean? are you going to have that in stock and it'll be available for sale on Thursday?"
Store rep: "Yes"
Me: "What time do you open on Thursday??"
Store rep: "We open at 9, but you may want to call back tomorrow night because we may open earlier on Thursday. We are not sure just yet, but that may happen."

Worst thing that could happen to me is that GN sold out in that location and I am without GN over the weekend, possibly longer. I'm just crossing my fingers that metropolitan stores will get much larger stocks and not run out of them...

I was give the iphone 4s as a birthday present but returned it when I heard I wasn't going to be able to get the double data plan, because it was a 3G phone. So paying the same price for slower speed and less data felt like I was getting shafted.

I'm still rocking a Motorola Krave ZN4 so this will be my first smartphone.:D

I can't wait for the release and I'm even getting my girlfriend one so we can droid beam each other. *in pun intended*

I called the corporate office in Forest Hills, Queens, NY and they said it would be available "shortly". They did not let me sign up for anything. Did any one have any luck for any locations in Queens, NY?

I have never had good luck with the Forest Hills location. Whatever you do, stay away from the Bayside store! My best experience so far for launch day has been 34st

I just tried calling the one I called this afternoon and they still won't say release date.
 
I talked to my sales guy this afternoon and he's still in the dark about it. He promised to call when he heard something official.

It better happen on Friday. I pulled a rabbit out of the hat when I scheduled it as a vacation day three weeks ago. :)

Yeah. Very odd. I can drive to Google HQ in less than 10 minutes from my house, but I can't buy it yet? lol

We also were not allowed to have Galaxy S II on display until a month later b/c of Apple blocking the demo units in stores. I wonder....

You know, I was kind of bummed out about it being friday instead of thursday, with me having all that vacation saved just for it. But it is going to work out just fine. Friday is my breakfast day (I am on a diet, but allow one splurge, Friday for breakfast I get something fast food on the way to work). Normally I get McDonalds, because it is the only thing open when I go into work, but there is a Chick-fil-a right next door to the Verizon store, so I can get that... mmmm chicken biscuit and GNex. What a way to start the day!
