***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Given how this launch seems to be prolonged over and over again (my view), is anyone concerned that when the GNex *does* release, it will be buggy and trouble-prone? Or will they eventually make it right via software updates?

I hope I am not waiting for what turns out to be a lemon of a device.

Well 2 hours after I get confirmation on my Friday appointment, I just got a call saying that they just received word it is delayed. No idea on when but not to worry about coming in on Friday.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! @#%%!%#@%@!
There I feel a lil better.(not much though)

That could be 24+ hours old, right?

Personally, I put no stock in that tweet - I have zero clue how to read it, what it's supposed to mean, when it was originally sent or to whom, etc etc etc. Probably people who follow DL can maybe answer that.

I was just helping with the image link as a public service, as others were having trouble with it.

Words like "Upon receipt" and "on/by" simply means to me that it is all VZW-speak, and I leave the exercise to others to decipher all that. ;)

I'm guessing it will be all of the above.

Who knows if this has already been posted (since you guys are posting at roughly 20 posts/min), but this is certainly the most interesting "delay" theory I've heard yet:

Galaxy Nexus Delayed Due To Verizon Violating Spectrum Rules In Google Negotiation? | TalkAndroid.com

was just about to post that. here is the original source article, and it claims that the tiff over Google Wallet is at the heart of the matter. interesting read. ahhhhh, the C-block spectrum dispute - where's jasearo?!?! ;)

Best wishes to your wife.

Been offline all morning. With wife at doctor. She took a serious spill at work and is in a great deal of pain. Will be online later.

I implore everyone too love one another in my absence. I'll be back in an hour and a half.

Steven

I don't buy that explanation. They've known for a long time that google wallet wasn't going to be on the phone. If it's true, then google is just totally screwing with verizon by waiting until it was about to launch to insist they include google wallet. If that's the case, I think I will redirect my anger towards verizon to google.

I have a feeling that Verizon might be telling stores that Dec. 9 is a "no go" just to get them to shut up.

They are control freaks and want every bit of info to be doled out by them, in an official capacity.

The 9th might still be good.

It might still be good.

So today we established some bad sims are out there. How fast can VZW get replacement sims sent for sold and stocked phones. If you can answer that I think you will figure out when we get the GN.

Yeah, I don't know how that original ComputerWorld release date got so much traction before. Dude had nothing to prove how credible he was, and the story sounded just as "concrete" as everyone saying "I called my CSR and they told me it'll be available on the Xth and I can preorder it tomorrow."

If it's a sim card issue are they stopping online sales of the razr and rezound as well?

Please note that Verizon has announced that there was a 4G network issue.

Individuals have some test data they believe points to sim cards.

Unless/until comprehensive tests show that's actually happening, and aren't isolated cases of hardware failure for a few people, best to not presume that it's a widespread issue.

SIMs are hardware. Lemons happen, testing isn't easy.

Hope that helps. :)

Han, for your sanity's sake, just plan on next week haha. BTW, it really is worth waiting, I know that's hard to believe but even from the 5 minutes I got with it last night I could tell. It's the absolute best you can get on Android right now.

If this pans out, you will forever be my best friend.

I just emailed my buddy who works for Verizon in a corporate position.
I asked if the GNex would be in stores on Friday.
He responded saying that he would text me.
He then texted 95% sure, get there early because it will sell out.

I know that is nothin earth shattering, but it is a tiny bit of (almost) positive info.

My buddy just texted me this:

Late breaking news on Nexus.... You can sleep in on Friday. Launch delayed.

Gnex:

1. Hey, guys, I love you :)

2. HAHHAHHAAH JK!!!!

3. here, you can have me now.
LMAO JK!!!

4. Here, I'll give you a hint and you can come get me in two days exactly.

5. Hang on....sorry. hahaha.

6. No but really, I'll think about prom with you

oops, sorry about that last one. this is just SO like my high school experience

I'm with you. I might just be hoping out of blind faith because I got tickets to the Steelers/Browns game on Thursday night, so I already called off Friday so I could tailgate my face off and it would be a perfect day because I could be hungover and play with my nexus all day.. The stars just seemed to align. Come on VERIZON!
