The wording on the last line tells me:

"were expecting the Galaxy Nexus by the 13th, in that case put it right on the floor for sales. If it comes sooner, the VZW stores will already have it, so put it up as well." not much info there imo

Agreed. Is says launch "upon receipt", which to mean would indicate sell soon as you get it.

So with all the bad news swirling this morning, I decided to take a trip to my local verizon wireless store in the southwest Chicago suburbs. I wanted to see if I could talk my way into playing with a Galaxy Nexus. Sure enough, after telling the employee that I was considering buying a razr but really wanted to feel what the nexus felt like in my hand, he told me he had one in the back! Sure enough, he came out with a working model!

So, my first impressions. I will be waiting for this phone. The camera is just as fast as everyone says. I love having the widgets in the app drawer. Speaking of widgets, being able to resize them is an awesome feature. I love that ICS took a page out of Cyanogen and lets you swipe away alerts. It worked very smooth. It felt similar in size to the razr but (forgive me) less sharp? The nexus just has more rounded edges. It did not feel to big in my jeans pocket either. All in all, after playing with the phone, I feel better.

See if this works (no guarantees, didn't check if cookies were involved -

Is this just ad material again? Cause obviously phones are already there, per store employees, and Hanette confirming...

is it only the Midwest/South that got these phones in stock? cause I'm in Long Island NY and I called about 6 stores and no one knows anything about a Nexus.

Funny story. I had a rep tell me today that the Rezound and the Razr have better specs than the GN and that the software on the GN is inferior and will slow the phone down. I laughed and told him that even if that was true, I would still take the unlocked bootloader and looked at me like I was speaking a different language... lol

You tell em bro.

Did everyone see the story that was linked to from the Galaxy Nexus No Longer Launching on December 9? article?

DROID RAZRs Receiving “Sim Card Authorization Error” – Verizon is Aware of the Issue

comment from Kellex: "Hearing that it could be a bad batch of SIMs"

a reader comment: "Spoke with VZW and this is a network issue on the East coast. All LTE phones in the area are in 3G mode. Only the RAZR is sharp enough to notify about the actual cause."

another reader comment: "Around 3pm est I also lost my sim connection I called Verizon wireless and was told there was a batch of new sims that were defective and were entered in to the system causing a the sim registration to fail. In order for Verizon to correct the issue the LTE registration and authentication must be shut down so no other bad sim cards can register. I called verizon back today and was told this issue could last over a Week or so."

This doesn't bode well for new phone releases......

As much as I have enjoyed this forum I wish i never found it. I would have just walked into a store 2 months ago and picked out what I liked and would have been happy with it. I don't think there is any going back now. Perhaps Verizon hasn't technically done anything wrong but this whole thing is leaving a very sour taste in my mouth.

strange. searching for 5801 quit working on the vzw site. worked last night, but the nexus disappeared from the results in the accessories. now i can't get it to search for it at all.
