So here's how I think the next several weeks are going to go.

On Friday I will attend my daughter's choral concert. She's very musical, and I'm always impressed and proud to watch her singing with her friends. And then, on Saturday and Sunday, she'll be part of a children's chorus during performances of "The Nutcracker," so that will be more of the same.

It will be a busy weekend, but at some point I'll find time to get the Christmas decorations down from the attic. I'm a sucker for family traditions; we'll put up the tree and decorate it while listening to Christmas music. It's always fun to pull out the old ornaments, which are reminders of when my daughter was younger. There's still one she made in kindergarten, and of course those Powerpuff Girls ornaments, and the one her best friend gave her in second grade. Time goes so fast, and somehow the holidays remind me of that more than anything else.

Next week I'll wind up my work for the year and start my year-end vacation (we're required to use all of our accrued vacation days before the end of the year). There's lots of stuff I want to do during my time off: reading, some jobs around the house, movies to watch. Maybe I'll record some new music; haven't had enough time for that lately.

Before I know it, it will be time to load up the car and head down to my parents' house for the family Christmas gathering. Every year, I'm thankful that my parents are still in good health and that my siblings live close enough that we can all get together.

Somewhere in there, I'll most likely get a new phone, which will also be fun. Fortunately, that's not the most important thing I've got going on right now.

I like your attitude... We find out tomorrow, if there is no press release in the next 24 hours, friday is out. (que clock ticking from "24").

Did verizon actually send a memo to stores telling them it is delayed? Or is this just speculation because of the equipment guide changing from 12/9 to "coming soon"?

If it's just the speculation, I agree it could just be an effort on verizon's part to avoid more leaks or whatever. But people are now getting calls/texts from their reps indicating it "is delayed". So I'm curious what those reps are basing the delayed thing on.
 
i'm done, i realized if verizon is just blowing smoke up our butts then this glass case of emotion that i'm in was useless. I gotta get off and go do errands or something.

My hunch from the beginning was announcement on thursday for release on friday so I'm just going to wait til tomorrow
 
If you don't like explanation "A" as to why it's delayed, just wait 3 posts and you'll get explanation B-Z.

Don't know about you guys, but I'm dizzy, really dizzy.

Unless/until comprehensive tests show that's actually happening, and aren't isolated cases of hardware failure for a few people, best to not presume that it's a widespread issue.

SIMs are hardware. Lemons happen, testing isn't easy.

Today was the 14 day mark for me with the Rezound. I went down to my local store for clarification on the return policy. I guess I lucked out catching one of the store managers right off the bat.

She told me that the holiday promotion is in fact for unactivated phones only, but after explaining my intentions with the Gnex, she gave me a card with her name and told me that as long as I bring the Rezound back before January 15th and asked for her, she would exchange it for me anyway.

For what it's worth, in both that encounter and a phone call yesterday where I did a poor job explaining my intentions, they genuinely seemed to be very unsure when the phone would release. She made sure I understood that she could only do me the favor before the 15th, whether the Gnex is available or not.
 
My .2 cents ...not like it matters at the speed of this thread moving.

I can't see the delay being due to software. Because units have already shipped to the stores. Software issues is what you work out before shipping them to the retailers. If it is that can't be mass fixed at the store it would more than likely involve shipping the product back and i don't see that happening. Similar to the volume fix patch that happened in the UK. Shipments stopped until all the units were re flashed and then shipped to retailers. Not the other way around. Now i guess i could see VZW delaying due to Network issues. There have been network issues the last few days. Also i guess it could be marketing reasons too.

anyways that is my thoughts for now. carry on.
