It's official, trained monkeys could handle the release of this phone better than Verizon.
 
Verizon acknowledges network issues, I'm assuming this relates to 4G.

Has anyone checked with Phandroid to ensure the servers can handle all million of us logged in at once? (don't forget about the lurkers!!!) The_Chief...did you get prior approval? ;)
 
haha, what a kick in the teeth. I just received my Diztronic TPU case/screen protector in the mail.

VERY nice case btw. for 9.80 with free 2 day shipping on Amazon, I'll take it. Feels great!
 
I predict that about 2 days after the phone launches, Verizon is going come to your house and take the phone back away from you while saying "neener, neener!" and then leak a new release date rumor for when you can get it back.

Hmmm.. what about running it with wifi only? I do that with a spare OG Droid I have. I put it in airplane mode and then turn wifi on.
 
Well I for one am sticking to my guns and believing our rumors from yesterday of Friday. I think Verizon is just being the typical egotistical jerk faces they are and did it so that they can release the dates themselves.

For now I'm impatiently waiting for my GNEX and wanting for this roller coaster ride to be over.

So this is what was said...

They are talking about the NFC chip....so Verizon has staked out claim that the NFC chip is a proprietary hardware element?

Interesting to say the least...

8 down isn't the "blazing fast" lte speed I was expecting at full bars. I know they said to expect 5-12 but doesn't HSPA+ regularly achieve that? I've been stuck on Verizon 3g for the last 2 years so I'm a bit out of the loop.

Just stopped by my Verizon corporate store and played with the Nexus. Pic to be posted when I get home. CSA said pushed back but he's still not convinced it won't happen Friday, units in store. There was no 4G on the phone you will see in the pic. I asked about it. He said all 4G is down today. They are rolling out upgrades to the towers. Should be finished by midnight tonight.

I would gladly take one and use it on wi-fi until VZ "agreed" to activate it. It is not like i actually use my phone to call anyone anyway, lol.

Before my comments, I would first like to thank you for your insight and humor, I've been listening to your show for a long time now.

My true Wish on the delay is that VZW had a "Come to Jesus" meeting with Google and Decided to give us Google Wallet after all.

It went something like This:
Google: You realize we are buying out Motorola Mobility? Right?
VZW: Um yes...what does that have to do w...
Google: (interupts)...We will be raising the next litter of your babies!!!!
VZW: But, But...
Google: (interupts)...We are pulling Moto out of ISIS...
VZW: But we...
Google: (interupts)So if you want us to Play Nice..You will Put on Google Wallet...I don't care if implementing it will bring the entire LTE network down to its Knees...<in Evil Voice>YOU WILL DO IT!!!! YOU WILL MAKE THIS A GOOGLE EXPERIENCE!
VZW: OK can i kiss the ring now?

And Tomorrow we get our Announcement, Friday we get our phones, and google Wallet, and LTE nationwide.

And They All lived happily Ever after...
