I have found no stock of nexus phones In Delaware,
Unless I've been lied to.
That might be the hold up, everyone said they will have it mid next week.

Launching a phone almost 2 months after announcing it is ridiculous and unacceptable to me. Rezound announced 11-3 and on-sale 11-14. This is how it should be done. Heck, the Razr might be in two colors by the time the Nexus launches. I guess having Samsung, Google, and Verizon all in the same room is just too many people in the kitchen and too many hands on the pie. :mad:

As I hang around in this forum and watch this thing unfold, maybe all your excitement once you all get your hands on one will change my mind. :cool:

One thing to keep in mind. The "announcement" you're referring to was not made by Verizon, but Verizon announced the other phones you mentioned. Not trying to be a Verizon fanboy here, but just because Google announced the device, doesn't mean it was already up to Verizon's testing standards.
 
At vzw now they asked the district mgr and regional mgr abt the date and while both od them were on their phones without hesitation said 15th. I'm in the rezound now... nice n fast but im def not soldon it. I'm obv having probs w the keyboard. Haha they did say it was delayed from today with no reason given. Oh well patience with my og til tnext thurs
 
Toledo, oh radio shack... Has the phones, cannot sell.... Name on call list... Same thing at the Verizon store... No idea on a date... Sound familiar?

Everybody, including yourself, hopped on the Verizon bashing bandwagon to explain why "they" are holding back Google Wallet and why "they" are delaying the phone because of it. I'm simply pointing out the flaws in this line of thinking. Verizon isn't blocking anything. Either Google, or Sprint, or an already previously written agreement between the two, is. All of that nonsense about Verizon violating spectrum rules by blocking something is just that, nonsense. And that was my original point, that everyone who is stating that it is a "100 percent fact, no doubt" (IE, you) that Google Wallet is the hold up is completely wrong, and is spreading false information to others here in the process. Verizon's statement that they are negotiating simply means that they WANT Google Wallet support and are in talks with Google to provide it down the road, maybe.

I'll state this all one more time in the simplest possible terms. Verizon isn't blocking Google Wallet. They are not "stripping" ICS of any functionality since it is not coded into ICS. Google Wallet is not a part of the AOSP. As of this moment, Google Wallet is a Sprint-only function. Verizon isn't violating spectrum rules by not including it, and as such, it is not the cause of the delay. Period.

As I mentioned in the last part of my post, I think Wallet is only part of it after reading up on it. I don't think Verizon is blocking it, because they can't legally. They can only request, which they did per Google's statement. Google complied, so THEY are ultimately responsible for it not being on the phone (no violation at that point). I don't think the non-inclusion of Wallet is the reason for the delay, I think the negotiations with Google over NFC payment is. Its more than just Wallet.

I went to buy the phone thinking there's no way I'm walking out of this store with it. The activation went through just fine but they couldn't ring up the sku.

So they hand wrote a purchase agreement and copied my credit card (they were assuming they could run it later today when the sku was active) they never got word from their boss stating anything different from the 9th as being the launch date.

When I got home and pulled the phone out of the box I seen they called & texted, they were frantically trying to reach me of course I knew what it was it was all about.
I consider these people friends and wouldn't want to see them fired. I am unemployed right now and I realize how tough it is out there.

but here is the good news...When I called Verizon to make certain that my upgrade eligabity was reset, I explained to the rep what happened. The Verizon rep was very forthcoming and told me that Verizon has not deleted the Nexus from their info guide but only hidden it, she says the release date is there and it's the 15th. I asked how she knew this and she said she really wants the Nexus so she went digging and found it, of course we all know that could change, but I don't doubt the rep for 1 second (and I usually doubt everything) that the 15th is the target date.

Google clearly knows that I'm obsessed withe the Gnex... Watching videos on Youtube (for work, seriously, it's lame, see previous post) about 09/11 and the first video suggested on that list on the right side... The Galaxy Nexus commercial. It's like they're teasing us!

True. But when you put it that way, it's even worse for me that Verizon has left their customers in the dark without a word on the phone.

Thank you! This is my first Z. My dad has owned a variant of them since the late 70's... 72 240Z, XX 280Z, 91 Z Slicktop, 06 350Z, now a 08 G35 sedan.

Yeah, the previous owner swapped it out w/ someone. I kind of miss the Nissan Hamburger.

Have a BBK and sways to put on her.

Those are nice; I was considering getting a Genesis but I got a helluva deal on the Z and couldn't pass it up.

Those old Z's are beautiful. I wanna own a black 240z some day and swap out the engine with a v8 vette engine. Ive seen a few like that online and man do they haul ass.

I don't believe the 12/31 written in a sharpie, that's just ridiculous to base anything off of that. What I am curious to know is if there is any truth to the edit at the bottom, which states that other retailers are allowed to retain their own launch schedules.

I will be on MW3 after my night out with the princess...late night...buddies and I try to get in some late night gaming in on the weekend once in a while and tonight is the night. Gamertag is the same as here. :)
