Radioshack guy called me back, said he had ONE phone to sell, then he said he would find out if he could sell it to me today and call me back...................I knew the answer already cuz he's been calling his "Verizon Rep".

He said the 15th it is...............

Can someone post the email address Verizon has been sending the fliers for 100 off a 4g phone? Or the address we can email?

Click Contact Us, Get in Touch, then Send An Email drop down box :)

Hey cggorman, I'm not sure if it has already been answered, but can you please tell me what it shows when you log into My Verizon and see your phone? Thanks!

Hey guys,

I would lovee to hear your advice on this (it could potentially save me and countless others some hard-earned cash come the 15th).

We all know the $100 off and $50 off any smartphone/android phone mailers exist, but many of us did not receive them. Some said they will be printing them out, taking them to their Verizon store, and attempting to make them honor it.

What is a good plan of action for making this happen? Should I call the national sales line right now and say, "hey my friends got this coupon mailer - my contract is expired, why don't you give me one?". Should I do the same but with my local store? Should I just show up with the printout on the 15th?

I don't consider myself the best negotiator in these circumstances :o so any opinions would be appreciated

OG Droid owner here. My contract expired last month. (I got my Droid the day they came out.) I received a mailer last week that's good for $50 savings. The last four digits of the phone number is right on the mailer.

Cross your fingers for me. I ported the number to Google Voice couple of weeks ago.

BTW, Verizon won't allow me to put another number on that device until the end of the billing cycle so I'm using a borrowed phone until then. Their loss.

Bummer. I just checked my OG Droid's charger, and it looks to be 850 mA. I suppose it would still be useful for overnight charging though, assuming I am not using 4G overnight. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

Most USB ports put out 500 mA, and I expect that you could charge from there (albeit more slowly than the wall charger, like any other phone).

I don't see how it could hurt - things have to operate within spec'd levels for USB or they'd be bound to change the connector.

(When they get it right, it's called Wikipedia. ;) :D)

Remember - chargers don't push, phones pull (draw) current (measured in amperes, aka A or mA).

I just got to play with one at my corporate store. I just started a new job and had to bring in my badge so that they could scan it to enable my discounts. I'm on my second Rezound and told the sales woman that I would be exchanging it. I said I would exchange it for another Rezound but was going to wait until the Nexus came out.

I asked her about it and she stated the 15th would most likely be when you could buy it. I then asked her if they had one and she said yes they did. She got it and let me play with it for about 10 minutes. This thing is awesome. It was slightly bigger than the Rezound, lighter but still had some density to it so it felt right in your hand. Very snappy and quick. Nice feedback on the buttons, camera was instant. Overall it just felt right. I could see myself keeping that phone for two years. The Rezound, not so much.

I tried that it didn't work so well, customer service said they would do it. Store said they wouldn't. Good luck let me know the results!

Ok so i have a choice.. I have the NE2 upgrade for 50 bucks cheaper.. and since verizon would not bump me up from the 12/29 date. I would get the phone at the regular 299.99 discount.

So the question is do I go and buy the phone from best buy and not care for the discounted price just so i can get the phone today? If indeed i can?

Sorry for your loss.
Were you able to determine where they picked up the disease, and unless you were able to determine it was not at the breeder's did you let the breeder know of the problem in case they had unknown problem at their facilities that could infect their other cats?

wow bad month for pets. My siamese I had for 14 years just died. He stopped eating and started losing weight. I took him to the vet and turned out he had an abdominal tumor probably lymphoma. He did ok for a few weeks then just suddenly declined and died in the course of about 18 hours. No distress just lethargic.

Anyone know a non-rooted app the works like Wireshark so someone with a nexus can packet trace where the update server is talking too?

Im going to go to the BB that said they would sell me one and just see if it really is true.. im sure once im there ill probably just end up paying the 299.99 and not care for the upgraded price.. Ill be back in about 40 mins...

Keep us updated BUSTA!

1) Connect computer to your router with an ethernet cable.
2) "Share" (Bridge) the wired connection over wifi.
3) Disable 3G/4G and enable wifi.
4) Install Wireshark on computer and sniff everything that comes over the wifi.

No rooting, though it's a hell of a lot more work.

Alternatively, I think Wireshark can run in "promiscuous" mode, but I'm not really all that familiar with that mode and exactly what it'll catch. I'm pretty sure it catches everything on the subnet though, so you might be able to just disable 3G/4G and sniff all wireless traffic.

Thanks. I didn't know phones pulled the juice, as opposed to the charger pushing it. The brick I was referencing plugs into a wall outlet, hence the 850mA. I didn't know that most USB computer ports only output 500 mA, but I guess that means it would be slower still to charge a GNex from my laptop , slightly faster using my OG Droid charger, and likely fastest with the GNex plugged into a wall charger that's supplied in the GNex box.

Did I understand this properly?

Yup, you can disable 3G/4G, won't really make a difference though.

Correct. The 850 mA Moto charger works fine during normal charging scenarios. It just doesn't have the amperage to drive the radios full-time like when downloading large files.

I just got back from my local best buy. He confirmed they had them but said after those few this morning he got a call that they cannot sell them or show them. He said it sounded like they got in hot water over it. He was real cool and said that we 'androidforums.com' would know first. He mentioned this thread by name lol...

So unfortunately looks like I've got to wait

Has anyone had any luck moving their upgrade date up from 12/28? I am about to call, and was wondering what my plan of attack should be. Thanks!

Exactly. :)

I was thinking wifi made the most sense, it would let us see which update server it is polling, might even let us download the update to see whats in it

Hey all, checking in for the first time in a while (about 24 hours I think :P).

We should get a list going in the OP of who got the Nexus before launch. It would be helpful for those of us who don't want to fish around in 30 pages of posts ;)

Anyways, I've decided that if the Nexus doesn't land on the 15th I'm jumping ship and getting a RAZR. I'm visiting relatives in NY on Saturday evening and I'd like a new phone by then. If Verizon misses the 15th, I don't know what I'll say, but I will be extremely disappointed in them. I guess I don't have reason to believe they'll miss the 15th at this point, but even the 9th was all but confirmed and they skimped out on that.
