Pretty sure most companies don't make press announcements on the weekend.

The RAZR went on sale over a month ago. I'd say they were done with boosting RAZR sales. If nobody went out and bought it in droves the first 4 weeks it was available, there aren't going to be huge swarms of folks breaking down the doors every corporate store in America to get one now.

A lot of times, Verizon let's things drop without mentioning anything until just the day or even the night before the release. Sometimes they'll release something at 12:01 AM and then make a press statement at 10 AM the next morning saying it's now available. For instance, while the RAZR's pre-order was announced a week ahead of time, the actual on sale date of 11/11 wasn't revealed until the Wednesday or Thursday before.

The 15th could still happen. There are very good reasons why they would want this out by next weekend the latest.

I'd like to believe this too. BUT, the phone was released on NOVEMBER 17TH in most of the world. A month ago! So what is Verizon testing? Yes, it has an LTE chip. Does that require a month of additional testing? And why is Verizon so heavily involved in that aspect of the phone? It's a Google phone, updates direct from Google with no Verizon influence. But they are rigorously testing the device that the rest of the world is already using?

I'm sorry, but I think the testing argument is just flat wrong, as much as I wish it wasn't.

I'm going call it a night as well. I think we all have to stay positive for a 12/15 release. Or, as some have reported hearing, possibly a surprise release tomorrow :D

Now, not to be Debby Downer, but I really believe if we don't see it this week, I have serious doubt's we'll see it this year :(

Verizon never says anything about any phone until they issue a press release. It can happen anytime up til about 3pm the day before the release date.

Anyone else praying for a soft launch Monday or Tuesday? Its a good thing I work at the mall. The corporate store is only a few stores down from where I work, so if it does happen I'll hopefully be making the transaction on a lunch break.

Once completed, I will drive to my parent's house and drop off the phone for safe keeping until XMAS day. I am not allowed to do anything other than activate the phone; that is it!

So if this phone drops any day before XMAS, I will get the best material gift, guaranteed, ever. My first time with ICS. My first time will be XMAS day! This compromise is outside of my normal comfort zone. However, my family wants to have a part in making my material XMAS wish come true and am grateful.

Last but not least, I will be working an 8 hour day on December 25th. My son will be a day shy of 14 months old. I will get time with my family on XMAS just not the entire day. Let's all take a moment to be grateful, gracious and reflective...

I was on the Best Buy quest today when I happened into the 3rd store. I just happened to talk to the mobile manager. He said the usual phones not out and then rumor mil......

What caught my attention was when I told him that other Best Buys were selling the phone. He told me "Thats not good that is a $10K fine per device sold when the phone hasn't been launched." Not sure who enforces that but those stores will be out some coin and some will lose their jobs.

From what I found out, I am comfortable waiting for the phone to come out.
 
I think the only scenario that makes any sense from the info we have from our leaks is that Google and Verizon are in ongoing talks about the ISIS / GW debacle and they continue to shoot for certain release dates, but until the problem is solved between Google and Verizon they cannot/will not release the Nexus.

They have to do whatever is necessary to mitigate any damages and possibility for litigation over the matter.

At least, that's my take...

I figured it was X -Y Board as in chromosomes. That they were going for the idea that this was the 'man's' tablet rather than the 'feminine' ipad. Not that I think the ipad is feminine.. but was the only thing I could come up with for the name change from Xoom.

Missed out on the thread most of the weekend, but seems like not much to catch up on other than Elle's poor puppy. So sorry to hear what happened.
