Hey everyone. First post! So I have been following this thread for a few days now and decided to not be shy and register.
Anyways, my original Droid's screen has been going ballistic the last 2 days, and once I unlock the screen it starts pressing so many random buttons, so it is rather annoying.
Long story short, I am PRAYING that the Nexus gets released Thursday because I basically don't have a phone at the moment.
Anyways, I'm glad I finally joined this forum
I had the same problem... Called tech support, and they sent out a warranty replacement (since I pay insurance on the phone, I get extended warranty).
I know everyone is getting tired of the rebate talk, but..... I just tried to get it applied to my account and the CSR said it was Chicago only. I live in TN and see that some of you in TN and definitely outside Chicago have gotten it applied. How so? What is the magic word?

I believe that is true and it may be happen that way. However, I think the Xyboard PR was shown on Verizon's website first before any tech site or blog caught wind of it. Then again, those sites were probably not as quick to post anything because the Xyboard wasn't exactly a highly sought after device.

I love how the verbiage changes as we get closer:
12/8 (after delay rumors) - "Oh.. I have no doubt in my mind this will be released by December 15th. I have sources and the store manager told me.
12/12 - "Well.. I mean some of the promotions say "as soon as" so I guess it could be the 20th, too.
12/14 - "It's all Google Wallets fault! Or some other thing.. Yet ANOTHER delay! What's one more week?"
12/15: "Oh.. I mean my source DEFINITELY tells me the 20th!"
12/20: "Well Verizon did say end of the year... so they aren't lying... but my source says the 30th!"
Repeat cycle:

Oh trust me, I've had my few shares of those already. Random dialing and facebook posts. So annoying. I can't believe I still have this phone lol.

Yes, but that was on the DroidDoes page, which is owned by Lucasfilm. So that could have been more of Lucasfilm's doing than Verizon's.
Still, I'm fairly confident on the 15th. Not much time left in the year!

I hope all those that signed up on the Verizon page for information about the Nexus get the news before even the PR site. But I doubt it.
Mine happened after having it in my pocket while caught on a lake in a rain storm. Since it showed water damage I had to use insurance for the replacement, and by that time they were sending out Droid 2's instead of originals. At first I was excited to have the newer version, then I realized I wanted the old tank back.

I wouldn't go as far as drawn by an artist but I expect a major corporation to be able to use Word effectively. That's someone's job and they should have practice in creating planograms.
At this point there is so much BS floating around that every detail is carefully scrutinized for any inconsistency. How many times have we been fooled or has the attempt been made to fool us? I'm skeptical of everything that has to do with this launch.
Crappy bullets are an indication of an amateur creator. As mentioned before, if this is typical Radio Shack, so be it. For me, I'd never show anyone that doc if I created it professionally.

And why is the Incredible 2 listed? Isn't that phone released?

I mentioned the 3g to 4g promo in the doorways system at first she thought I was talking about double data, then she went to talk to a "floor manager" and came back saying it should apply automatically but since I don't believe that mess I asked if she could make a note on my account which she did, I'll double check that later. She said that the stores might not see the note so it might be better to order over the phone. Said it ended 12/31.

Lol. I know what you mean. My gf is literally getting pissed off at me as about every third sentence out of my mouth is talking about this phone. She's hung up on me once or twice because she got tired of it. I guess that's what you would call being obsessed with a phone. Sad thing is its not even out.

Glad to see Costco is keeping the 15th open. I don't like the phrasing "as early as" though. No announcement from Verizon today, tentative wording from Costco, I'd say this is still very touch-and-go.
