We are 2 days out from a supposed release. The fact that stores still claim it's not coming this week is troubling. Unless they are just plain lying why, when we are this close, doesn't EVERY store know 100% that the release is Thursday. Maybe because it isn't. Either that, or Verizon truly is dumb and can't properly communicate with their customers OR their sellers. Either way, I'm staying at a 1% chance the phone comes out this week.
It is really odd that stores and reps have such varying stories. I could see the misinformation being an issue with a device that was rushed out, but I would think with the Nexus, after all this time, Verizon would've made some sort of cohesive place for this release. Still, I think the different stories we are getting - ranging from it is definitely coming out Thursday to knowing absolutely nothing - is due to a combination of some employees being more tight-lipped than others and some employees repeating hearsay and rumors with certainty.
This really does make me wonder why, if the phone is set to release in two days, Verizon doesn't just come out and say it to maintain the credibility of their employees. I can't see any business reason for them to allow so much misinformation to be spread about a device that is dropping in less than 48 hours. If the device is still facing problems, then I don't blame Verizon for keeping it quiet; but if it is really set for release on Thursday, at this stage I don't see the use in allowing their employees to continue to give different stories to customers.
I'm with you in that this makes me think the 15th may be still a target and not a certainty, but I'm retaining optimism that Verizon and/or their employees are bungling this release and that the 15th is a go.
