Just got a text from one of the VZW corporate store managers I've been working with...

"No word yet... date was changed again". :mad:

I know they have them... played with one at another store last Friday, and the guy there said they have plenty of stock... WTF?!

welp, just called the same store ive been talking to and i have another round of info for those willing to listen/read:

(and this was the first thing i said when they answered)...

I said: "for the galaxy nexus launch tomorrow, are you going to have enough stock or should i make an appointment?

he said: "ummmm...*talks to someone off phone, cant hear what he says..."you should probably make an appointment"

He takes my info down and says "it's still first come first serve basis, but if you dont get one tomorrow we are overnighting them for the next day (friday)"

i told him i will be able to get there after work tomorrow at the soonest, he said that should be fine.

SCOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Thank God my store told me tomorrow is the day, otherwise I'd be going crazy. Well, crazier.

If that recent statement is true, then I would surmise there not being any sort of press release today announcing availability. Why put out a statement like that if they are planning on saying something today (unless it's going to be much later today).

Also, kind of odd that we've only heard from androidandme about that statement and no one else yet.

However, I still think Thursday is in play.

I'm still on for Thursday as well. Regarding the statement, and PR, etc... as we've learned all too well, the various departments/people at Verizon aren't exactly on the same page all the time. One may be still instructed to say "this year", while another may be prepping PR(MAYBE, BIG... MAYBE). Meanwhile its (hopefully) funneling down that sales can start tomorrow.
 
I sent a message to one of the people I know at the local corp store. This person has been very helpful. They pulled the demo phone from the back so i could look, this was last week and they stated over and over no stock yet.

Reply - We were told last night (Tuesday) that the launch would be Monday. I will check when I get in work today if anything has changed, but we do have a bunch in stock.

Take that for what you will, but that's my input to this thread.
 
So I imagine the PR people have decided they are going to save the best, and most anticipated, for last. I expect we will see it in the next hour or two.

Maybe they are referencing all the Costco 16th rumors? Dunno.
 
I just got off the phone with a corp store in downtown Minneapolis. The rep was very nice and told me there was no "official" word, but as we were on the phone she saw inventory come into the store. She said she didn't know how many they were getting in and told me she would call me later today when she found out more information.

She said; "I'll tell you to either get here right away at 7AM or take your time depending on the amount of phones we get in."

I just called two more stores, one corp one reseller, and both had no information. The corp store said they just got an email, put me on hold for about two minutes, said that the only thing that is coming out tomorrow is a new tablet, nothing on the Nexus. The guy at the reseller said that he has accessories, but no phones and has no idea when they will get them to release.

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but three stores all saying the same thing and no press release tells me that this is not going to happen. I hope I am wrong, I really do.

I couldn't believe it! I hated it, but it was so good. Probably how it had to happen anyway. I was starting to think it would wind up finishing a big circle, but they totally didn't. So good. Tough loss, but great great show.

at first I thought it was Verizon debunking tomorrows release, as far as we know this guy emailed Verizon a week ago and just got a canned response today.

Yes, that is the standard canned response they've been sending out for the last month or so. I'm betting on a day-of press release stating that the Galaxy Nexus is now available for purchase in store and online.

They seem to be wrong because the WRazr was announced for release tomorrow.
 
Just got off the phone with my sister. I checked on her new baby and checked if she heard anything. She hasn't been to work since last week (VZW in Seattle store) but text a dude for me. He said they are telling people Friday because they are unsure of WHAT time the launch happens tomorrow. WTH? LOL, they aren't telling them what time the phone will hit the computers lmao....
