Dissapointed with the Extended Battery

I am currently at 12h 21m 37s with 23% left. i worked 7-5 and i had very light use besides texting. Didn't do any browsing just went on Facebook app for around 10 in total. My brightness is set to 20%-30%.

I tried that, but was a little too tight for me. I was worried about the tabs getting strained.

Plus I like the idea of charging the second battery while not in use.

:)

I forgot to check before I put in my case, is it the same super flexible back as the GSM version?

I picked up the extended battery today for 50% off. I want a full arsenal when I'm on set and I'll grab the power bundle with battery charger and extra battery too after the holidays. Dead batteries are not an option so I'm pulling out all the stops this time!

It's the same material, but maybe just a hair thicker. It is also flatter, so you lose the small bump on the bottom and it doesn't sit flush on top of the camera lens like the stock door does.

does the extended battery everyone is getting have the nfc compatibility? i havent been impressed with the stock battery life when idleing. without any use it dropped 20% within a couple hours. currently going through settings/developer hoping something fixes it. turned the nfc off. no need for it until i need it, well see if does anything.

I will ask this also just in case i do decide to "repurchase" a nexus ...

Will there be other batteries coming out you think that are much bigger and will compensate with a bigger back cover to make up the thickness difference?

If someone made like a 3000ma batter or something and then made a back cover to go with it i would be all for it..

The nexus is thin, almost to thin just like my iphone 4 feels...They always feel better with cases and more safe.

I bought the extended battery with an otter box defender. Its a tight fit but it does fit. My only complaint is that with the gap under the new battery cover it feels really cheap. However, you can't even notice with the defender on.

It fits inside, however the top door wont close down, which shouldnt really be a problem.

Yeah I bought both of the extended battery and the charging kit . I really dislike the external charger ,I love the little Chinese ones that just plug right in . I'm waiting for one to come available . I'll be returning the Battery Charging kit it does work with the extended battery but the whole set up is tachy

There is also a nice desktop dock for the GSM version that has an extra battery slot I might grab that when it comes out for the CDMA version. Much better then the VZW charging kit

I don't think you need to change the door . The extended battery fits under the stock cover and obviously visa verse

When you buy the extended battery, it comes with a new cover. This is for a reason. The extended battery for the Droid X came with a new cover also, but people figuered out that the standard battery cover could be used. After a while some started complaining that the screen on thier X was getting spots on it. Come to find out that with the standard cover used with the slightly larger extended battery was putting perssure on the back of the screen and causing it to malfunction.

So my recomendation is to use the cover that was designed to be used with the extended battery. Doing so could save you problems down the road. Also, the increase in thickness is minimal.

Good luck,

I honestly couldn't even get the battery to fit under the stock cover . But you it really is no difference from the stock cover I can barely tell the difference

I'm getting pretty good battery life out of my extended battery I'd say 14hrs of medium use .. Usually an hour + streaming music about 45-60min of wifi teather , few dozen texts , internet browsing , lots of camera use , 4g always on ... I'm very happy with the extended battery and it's nice having the back up stock sized battery that while I haven't gotten to really use it but I'd say it would get me 10-12hrs easily

Phone died and charged it to 100% .. 1 hour later and some text messages ans a site two im down to 81% ... also on 3g... is this def the battery or can it be the ohone..
Also will an update fix this issue?

Anyone who is disappointed in the extended battery... you do know it's only ~15% more than stock, right?

You aren't going to get miracles just because it says "extended" on it.

But it's 15% more, not like seido or whatever their name was in the past with DINC batteries, you got an advertised around 20% but in reality, you got 0%.

All of that was discussed here, on these very forums. I'd say that coming from VZW, they at least will give the advertised battery rating.

Question- Undr mobile network settings, what does everyone have under system select..

Home only or Automatic. Just curious if that could help me battery.

You might want to check what apps you have running.

This. I had an issue earlier with mine dropping that fast. As it turned out, touchdown failed to sync do to too many failed push attempts. My router got unplugged upstairs by accident and the phone was set to wifi. So touchdown was continuously trying to sync over and over again. Killed it and all was well.

Whats missing is nova launcher

I would be killing the facebook and the espn apps. Something is telling me that facebook is your problem.

Oh and what is under all of those when you scroll down?

I got 36 hours of light use/standby while on wi-fi today and yesterday with the extended battery. Going to Orlando this week, so I will see what it does on 4G the whole week, but so far been pretty happy with it myself.
