Root No slider on lockscreen!!!

Yes, that's the one i'm on now.

The kernel wouldn't have any play in my original problem would it? I was using the Anthrax test 9 version.
 
Ok, this is nuts!!! After just making a new nandroid a few minutes ago, out of curiosity i went back into recovery and tested restore, SAME PROBLEM, not able to access sd card!!!! WTF!!!

what size card do you have? and explain more on what is happening. when do you see this error?

Originally my slider and widgets disappeared from the lock screen. Wallpaper was there, top status bar was there with clock, battery, etc...phone was essentially working, would ring, notify texts, everything except i was locked out.

Now, i just noticed that backup/restore STILL isn't seeing sd card or my newly created nandroid!!! In flash i can see everything but not in restore.

Just installed a new 16gig class 10, formatted and partitioned. When i go into restore nand, can't open sd card. In flash, it sees everything.

ok right after you get the error go into the main menu of amon ra2.3 and then select advanced(it might be under other, not sure) and select move recovery log to sd card. then with a file manager like es or root explorer navigate to the card (you can do this with your computer as well). open the recoevry log and report what it says here.

can't ope /dev/tty0: No such file or directory

it say's a lot, not sure how much you need. It does say something about fixing execute permissions for cache I: set boot command "boot-recovery"

ok what folder did you re-name? also what did you name your nandroid backup to?

from the looks of it, your recovery can't find the directory to where your nandroid backups are. you need to leave the folder that contains your nands in to what it was before. your nandroid backups is what you can name. make sure with your nandroid backup that you do not have any spaces in the name and that it does not have any weird symbols.

Well, i usually just rename the nandroid folder itself, something simple like nandroidMikG, or the most recent one was MikG_01162012 (??i think) anyway i keep it simple. And, i haven't moved the most recent one or anything, i just changed the name in ESfile.

Should i not rename them?
 
ok so the folder where your nandroid backups was not moved or re-named? it needs to be something like HT0CVHL01139. and in that folder is your nandroid backups. if your backups are named with a space and no weird symbols then you are good to go. no need to rename them.

Hmmm...i renamed the outer folder, when you open that, there is the HTOC named file. Let me try something.

I went in and took out the outer name so that now you see HT0CVHL01139 in the sd card directory and it still said it couldn't open it.

i think that the HT0CVHL01139 is phone specific. so backup your nandroid backups on to your computer and just delete the nandroid folder all together. then in recovery make a nandroid backup of your current rom just so that you can get amon ra to create the folders all over again with the right names. then move your nandroid backups from your computer back to the card into the right folder.

Lol, i just copy/pasted your file number in this message for ease. Ok, i created another nandroid. We are on to something big here!!! So i rename the BDS file?

Omfg!!!! 24hrs later and my nandroid mystery is solved!!! I had renamed the nandroid folder (idiot)....now I can see the others.

You are THE man!!!:D

One last question. Do i wipe cache and delvic before restoring a nandroid?

yes you can rename the bds file just make sure to keep it simple make it like:

MikG_3_Antrax_011612
