Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Kinda got a question on the 2nd partition on sd card. How in the world do I go about making it? Im going to move my files off it and then do this I just want to be able to do it right but I dont understand how to format it with a 2nd partition for use with app2sd and link2sd I got both lol. Any help would be appreciated.

If you go into CWM, (holding volume up while hitting the power button) go to advanced and down toward the bottom you will see Partition SD. Simple as that bro.

On another note. I did notice the bug that someone else posted about earlier. I was on CTMod 3.2 with Kouma Kernel 1.3 initially then decided to do ahead and try out KK 1.5 with it. After partitioning the SD card I loaded all 480 songs back onto my SD card. When I went into my media player it was only showing 39 songs so I did a refresh on it and still only 39 songs. So I unmounted and remounted the SD, same result. Then I rebooted the phone. Same thing. I checked my file explorer and all 480 songs showed in there but not either media player. So I went in and changed my music folder to Music.bak, rebooted, renamed folder and the songs were in media player. But after it scanned media it stayed at 100% in the status bar. I tried to kill everything and it didn't go away unless I rebooted.

Sorry for writing that all out. Maybe by over describing crap Blood can pinpoint what's causing the issue. So yeah, my bad!! Trying to be of some use haha. Later.

Update: I've been playing w/ this thing for almost an hour and IT'S FAST ! I don't know exactly what you did that boosted the responsiveness but you did it . Oh , did I mention that IT'S FAST !

- doesn't seem to like landscape mode. I switched it on. But the home screens don't like it. (I this k it used to be possible correct me if I'm wrong.

if your using zeam you gotta press menu>preferences>general and select sensor rotation for the home screens to rotate

are you using the music player that comes with the rom?

if so try adding your music to the MIUI/Music/mp3 folder on your sdcard and see if it detects it better

what was your phone setup before trying to install 3.2?

if so try adding your music to the MIUI/Music/mp3 folder on your sdcard and see if it detects it better

Well I was using Mixzing. But also tried the MIUI player also. No big deal as it straightened out anyways. Went back to KK 1.3 anyways, don't care for the 1.4 or 1.5 as of yet.

This happened to me too. You have to odin back to EJ06 or FA19 then use cwm to install ctmod 3.2, WITHOUT performing any formatting of system, data, cache, etc. before flashing ctmod. It's not necessary to do those things as Blood has very thoughtfully added them to the zip and it does it when you flash the rom.

The only time you need to format the sdcard with an extension is when you use a2sd, data2ext, etc.

I am with you on the mobile AP and any other tether app I have tried. WIFI Tehter Doesn't seem to work only get error codes and the Force Stop button. Same goes for Open Garden as well. Everything else is Sweet with this MOD. LOVING IT THANKS BLOOD

I don't think that MobileAP has been fixed or if it will. I do not think you can get rid of the icon. Use the WIFI Tether app recommended in this forum. It works great.

I would like to know which KK this comes with or is it a modified version of one of his. Will it work with the other KK's, especially the Data2SD ones?

Right now I am running without A2SD or any sd-ext utility. Not much memory showing as available but the phone is FAST in doing just about everything. All my usual requisite apps are running great.

Still using FA19 and not sure that it is better than EJ06, maybe a little slower, but going to hang with it a while.

Only noticed, one weird glitch. Backed up SD to PC and did a KoumaPack after I got it configured like I like it. Afterwards, I disconnected the USB from the phone. I did not do the SAFE removal jazz from the laptop. I hit the option on the phone to disconnect and it never did. I was able to use the phone and made and received phone calls. Got tired of seeing the USB symbol on the status bar, so I rebooted. Did not really pay attention, but it hung up somewhere during the process. The bottom row of keys was lit up but nothing else would react. The power button would turn off the lights to the bottom keys and then turn them back on. I took the battery out for a minute and rebooted and everything was fine.

EDIT:

Of course, I had to switch to ADW EX and remove ZEAM. I just like it better.

the kernel included with the rom is the unofficial KoumaKernel 1.3

I just compiled it from source, removed the /data to sd-ext mod and changed the splash screen.

yea, you can use the kitchen

make sure you upload the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk from the rom to it.

i dunno about the wifi calling apps, i haven't tried any.

CTmod 3.2 is working well with KK 1.5test. I think the issues I was having were related to a bad SD-card partition. I'm still getting a force close when changing contact info, and i've had a few instances of internet troubles that I'm certain was related to the local cable provider. (They upgraded the network hardware nearly a month ago and now our service is worse ) Other than that it's business as usual.

Off-topic: My nephew was showing me his new (i think) Samsung Admire this weekend, bragging on his 1 ghz processor and such. After handling my phone for two minutes he stopped bragging. The difference in responsiveness between CTmod and his stock phone was insane.

okay, like i've said before... this is the BEST rom out there for our prevails.... i just upgraded to 3.2 with the built in kernel.... my only issue is... i was using l2sd on 3.1.2 and my apps where getting put on ext4 and for some reason... now i installed it again on 3.2 and my apps will link but wont show up.... am i doing something wrong??? i actually formatted m,y card to start from scratch ... partitioned my sd card... and installed the rom... idk what im doing wrong

Hey Bloodawn, I love your ROM. I am having some issues with the 3.0+ version, though. I cannot get Swype or GTalk to work properly in these versions. I've tried the APKInstaller.zip, installing like any other apk, and adding the apks to the rom zip before flashing, but nothing works. Installing isn't actually the problem, it's getting them to run. Whenever either of them starts, they both force close immediately after. I tried a swype APK from another ROM and it worked, but it was themed and the theme was kinda ugly and slightly buggy. Any suggestions? Know if I could snag apks for GTalk and Swype from the older versions of CT? Thanks!

loving this setup too KK1.5 and CT3.2 so far has been the best duo ive used. i say screw all the new phones coming out with boost cause ive gotten a couple of my coworkers to switch to boost as well and one got the admire and he wants to switch to my phone cause like Caeadas said it really is that much faster. Thanks alot Bloodawn as soon as i get my paycheck friday ill have to buy you a bottle of crown (or beer, whatever you prefer)
