Root [ROM] Undeniable Marquee for the LG Marquee LS855

Mine works...it seems so far, anyways. Just did a test call from my other cell phone and this ROM received the call. My Menu key works as it should, as does my Home key. Will continue to run this tonight and test it some more.

I'm on Sprint and just rooted. I read through the above and it appears that only tombob was able to get it to work.

tombob: are you on Sprint?

Playful: where is the latest dl?

Thanks.
Mine works just fine...have been running it for almost 24 hours now with no problems. I'm on Sprint, and the latest download is http://unleashedprepaids.com/media/phones/lg-marquee/LS855_signed_031612_122534.zip

Yes, I am on Sprint. Still no problems here, will report any that turn up. Thanks PlayfulGod!

hoping to try this out for myself soon. Sounds like it works with the exception of a couple of people.
What kind of advantages are you noticing over stock (if any)?

Not many differences from the stock install from the factory. Main advantages are De-odexed and de-bloated, meaning all your apk's info is in the same place instead of being spread around with .odex files, making it easier to mod and theme, and the Sprint bloatware being gone. No more SprintZone, Sprint ID, or Polaris Office.

Been working great so far, it boots fast, and all of my app+data backups from my Nandroid restored with no issues. Nice work PlayfulGod!

I installed the latest Playful God ROM. But it "unrooted" my phone (confirmed via root check). I believe that I've installed custom ROMs on other android phones and this hasn't happened.

Do I now have to re-root the custom ROM?

Also: I can't seem to get it to recovery mode. I've tried holding the power and volume down buttons, but no go. Quick reboot doesn't work because I'm not rooted. (NEVERMIND this: I opened an adb and did "adb reboot recovery." That got me to the CWM.)

But the problem remains that I'm not rooted. I did wipe data/cache/Davlik. The ROM installed fine. When it boots, I get the new animation (an old-school Asteroid looking shape in a blue-green color). It acts like a new ROM, and has Superuser and the ROM program that PG mentioned. But its not rooted.

Is this right?

you dont "lose" root. Playful has the updater-script wrong on the symlink so the binary is in the wrong place. I'll send him a pm about at some point so he can update it

To begin with I'm a new user to android and marquee is my 1st droid phone. So I saw this thread and decided to give it a shot. I'm experiencing a few problems:
I d/loaded the zip file copied it to the root of my microSD. I did wipe data/cache/Davlik. The ROM installed but:
1. I do not see a new animation( not that I care but makes me wonder if I have a new rom) , polaris is still on my phone? But SprintZone, Sprint ID are gone?
2. When I try to create a hot spot I get the message: "error code 67: unable to establish wireless data connection....... Please contact ur phone company).

Did you experience anything like that?

i dont have any errors while installing, but the rom just doesnt function right. anyone have a different rom i can try (even stock).

maybe its a hardware issue on my end.

Like IMonster posted my symlink for su n superuser is backwards in my updater-script. Until I get a chance to correct it just reroot n it should be good. ;)

error 67 means that you have to reprogram your phone again, some times we experience the same scene when we do an esn change, call Customer Service and tell them to reprogram your phone, I'm a Cellphone Dealer.

Works like a charm :) Still waiting on my Market to update to Google Play now lol

EDIT: su binary won't update, says "Downloading manifest... failed!" Check your internet connection. I have 3G internet and my wifi works as well, I'm able to browse web pages, Market, connect to gtalk, and everything else.

Root does work, I've just never got a "Failed" message when checking for binary updates.

Sorry for the double post..

I restored to an earlier backup (LS855_signed_031612_122534.zip), which was the last update before this one, and I'm still getting the superuser binary update error..so it appears it's not the ROM...maybe the update servers are having problems? Is anyone else having trouble checking su binary updates?

i get the same problems with this build as the others...

home and menu buttons swapped and no cell radio. :(

edit: the fone is snappier with these ROMs tho. anyone else have the issue with swapped buttons and a non-functional radio?

Market finally updated to Play Store..4 hours later, took it long enough lol

Everything is up and running, all apps from Nandroid restored again with no issue. Thanks PlayfulGod!

Another screenshot for the heck of it ;)

Just out of curiosity..what version of SW are you running?

LS855ZVb

i did buy this fone off craigslist, but this was before the boost released the fone. what i found weird about my fone is that it has the optimus black back cover on it, but the S/N sticker is definitely for sprint.

whats the difference between the ignite and marquee? could i have just got a flashed ignite or something?

I'm wondering if because your SW is different, if that is maybe why your buttons are swapped?...mine is LS855ZV9.

I tried searching for the LS855ZVb firmware but couldn't find anything..

I guess you could always flash it to LS855ZV9 if you're on Sprint, but I don't know the differences, if any, in the firmware.

Am I correct in assuming CIQ is still part of this rom? I removed the files manually from my stock rom but it causes problems after that.

Edit:I am with Sprint.
