You have to be completely stock 4.02. The rom, bootloader, recovery, and radios have to be all stock 4.02 or else it will fail. If you meet those conditions and take the ota it will break root. However you can use the ota root keeper app, or just reroot afterward since it's rather easy compared to most phones.

This. It says right in the description that it fixes one-way audio issues. I know everyone has been saying that 4.0.4 does not fix that problem. That's probably true. I'm going with the theory that Verizon is bundling a fix from Samsung along with 4.0.4 that will fix that, as well as some other issues.

I'm just trying to be optimistic, guys. Don't pop my bubble. At least not yet. ;)
 
Is there any relation to this update and the update notification for the "My Verizon - Galaxy Nexus" app I received this morning?
 
I really don't get why they don't just push the update as soon as it's ready, which it obviously is and has been for a while. Must be fun for them to watch us squirm and bitch about all the bugs on our phones.

The app was getting horrid reviews for a couple reasons including asking for way more access than was comfortable like read access to contacts.

It appears that they updated the app and removed some of the permission issues.
 
Is it fair for Verizon to label it as a 'new' update?

I mean, this update has been sitting in the back room for quite some time.

Shouldn't they be rolling out 4.0.5 or something like that by now?

"Soon" is a 4-letter word when it comes to Verizon. That means my prediction of we'll-be-lucky-to-see-it-by-July I made a few pages back will probably come true.

I hate this cloak-and-dagger crap.
 
Tempted to go back to stock to receive this OTA. But I will wait a couple weeks, till its actually rolling out. ;)

Can everyone that gets this OTA notification let the rest of us know, guess maybe they're going for the May 31st deadline?

On a completely different note, is there a way to remove the "frequent call list" from the contacts option on the phone page? Its storing pretty much every call I make as a frequently called number and I have to scroll through this list to get to my normal contact list. Not a big problem but a complete annoyance.

AFAIK there is no way to remove those contacts / clear that log.
