Root [ROM] Deck's ReLoaded | LOTK | Ver 500 RLS

wrong! This ROM has a very light footprint. Your internal memory is what you want. Free ram low means nothing. This isn't windows, it's linux. Every app has its alotted ram whether it's being used at the time or not. Ram gets shifted and moved as needed by the os. The more internal the better on gb. Don't go below 100 and you are fine.

TB states that my internal free is 390mb.

has anyone noticed a problem with gps?

I put this on but my gps isnt working. Though I am not sure if it is directly related to this rom.

I flashed stock sense rom on and gps works put decks 1.3 back on and no gps.

Well I rewiped everything and reinstalled and its working fine. oh well.

Started running this on my wife's phone and so far its great. Came over from MikG, and there's one thing I'm missing. In MikG, under settings, call settings, there was a choice for DTTM mode, which would send all phone calls to voice mail during an active data connection. This is handy for example when I'm downloading the latest ROM file and you get 95% through a 130Mb file and then the phone rings and you have to do it all over again. Does reloaded have a setting like this anywhere? Its the only thing I'm missing about MikG

Hi, I am running reloaded .44 and cannot get the cameras in skype to work. I am able to establish a connection to another party, but both the local view and remote view are simply black. I believe skype is working in this version. Can anyone help?

Also, GPS is not working for me. Thoughts???

Thanks

Common aosp issue. this Rom already includes the fix but it wouodnt work for me either.

Try downloading the app named gps status from the market and use its tools to download GPS assistance data.

If that doesnt fix it, make a nandroid, flash a sensed base Rom, download GPS status from the market, get a fix, backup the app and its data from titanium backup, restore your nandroid for decks reloaded, and restore GPS status's data from titanium

That worked for me

I've never had an AOSP ROM, always Tommy or MIK. Would like to see what AOSP is like and want to start with an "easy" one. If I flash this ROM do I also need to flash google apps or anything else?

The Gapps are built in.

Have you used that Aroma Installer before? It is a trip!

I suggest you select to install the GoLauncher if you do the installation where you pick stuff. Might come automatically with the default install.

It has way more options than I use but it makes it so I don't miss Sense.

That gapps issue was going to be one of my questions also.
Then one more question, do I need to worry about flashing a gps fix? Or anything else associated with an aosp rom? Or basically does this rom include everything I need.

Thanks Dust. No, never used the Aroma Installer. I have GoLauncher installed but don't know how I'll launch it at time of install.
I have Decks 44 dl'ed to my SD card and am ready to flash my first AOSP. Of course I have a full nand of my MikG set including wimax just in case I screw this up.

Question: When flashing I've always used ZZZVR SuperWipe. The OP suggests Calkulin's Format All.
Do both of these do the same thing?

Thanks.

superwipe is the combination of calkulin's format all and his clear temp script and performs them 3x.

I used the superwipe myself, didn't look to see what they were suggesting. :o I am not sure, seem to remember reading that superwipe may just be that one 3 times or something? go ahead and use it to be safe if you want, these guys know what they are talking about.

I didn't have the Smelkus recovery at the time either, but I do now and I like it. It has a bunch of wipe combinations you can choose with one click, including Superwipe.

It also lets you choose to reboot your phone after some operations like a restore, which is handy.

When you use the installer in the custom mode it gives you the option to choose some included apps, GoLauncher is one of them. So is TB I think. Not sure what default option loads.

A tip, you may already know, on your present rom using it, go to menu and make a backup. it saves the icons that you have on the various pages. When you fire it up on the new rom, go into menu again and restore it. It'll rebuild your page setup for you. If you don't have an app installed on that rom you will just have a generic sort of icon there but if you have backed it up in TB, restore your apps and you'll be good to go.

Thanks much sensei. I"m sticking with superwipe. NTTAWWT :)

well, i am positive he knows more than I do about it, but, I still make a backup of it, sd ext when I make my nand , and wipe it and I restore it from nand as well.

Sometime I may get brave and check it out and see what is up with that. But, in the meantime, I KNOW it works the way I do it.

About the question of wiping sd-ext when going from rom to rom.
check out post # 2153 by smelkus...do you agree with him when he says no need to wipe sd-ext? or am I reading that wrong.
About to go from mikg rom to decks and his post had me wondering...

[ROM] Deck's ReLoaded | LOTK | Team DIRT | Ver. 44 Mag RLS | 5-25-12 - Page 216 - xda-developers

it kind of depends on the roms. usually if the roms are similar then not wiping sd ext might work. i have found that in the past that when the two are roms like sense vs aosp will not work. but that is my experience with it. i have found that it is much safer to just wipe sd ext (if your are partitioned) then not.

Installed Deck's 44, now busy figuring it out and getting my phone the way I like it. As is mentioned in the OP titanium Backup is real buggy with this ROM. I've had to reboot and restart TB 4 times so far to get it to keep running. It is a downer to not be able to run TB as the very first thing ou do with a new ROM; I'm sure ropodpe and the other devs will smooth this out in the next version.

As dustwun says the Aroma Installer is unique, it give you the option to go ala carte on what is installed. Can't wait to get this thing customized and start to get into the ROM.

I had heard that about tb too but i didn't have a problem with it at all.

How did you get tb on there? did you use the installer to put it on there?

I think one of the first things i did with tb was to restore MY version of tb I had backed up. maybe try that and see if it makes any difference.
