Root [ROM]Cold as Ice for Optimus V [UPDATED] [A11]

I'm a BacksideIHO user and I quite like that ROM but I thought I would give ICS a try. I installed A10 about a month and a half ago and I was impressed. Without any overclocking or adjustments, it was blazing FAAAAASSST on my phone. I ended up going back to IHO after finding that the MMS was not working. I did check out the A11 last week, and I see that MMS is now working. But I do a couple of issues I was hoping someone might be able to help with...

First is the Facebook sync. I prefer to keep my FB contacts synced with my phone's contact list, but under ICS they don't seem to sync at all. I've double-checked the settings and all SEEMS fine. Is this a problem with the Cold As Ice ROM or is there some compatibility issues between FB and ICS itself? I know this isn't the end of the world but when you're used to things one way, it's hard to adjust to change :P

Next issue is the wifi hotspot. Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this coming in the near future? Unfortunately, I am currently relying very heavily on my phone as a wifi hotspot. I just moved and I can't afford to get internet hooked up for a little while, so this is the only way I can get on the internet with my laptop. The hotspot issue is the dealbreaker for me right now. If this gets fixed I would put ICS on my OV and say goodbye to BacksideIHO.

I'm sure that Kraven has a home site where all this info can be found but I prefer not to have to register for every single site I come across just so that I can read the forums :-\ Same thing goes for the keyfix and Sprint branding fix. Seeing the Sprint name doesn't bother me one bit and I actually don't mind the menu and home keys being "reversed". It took me about 5 minutes to get used to having them switched around and then it was like second nature to me.

But I think I have rambled on here enough LOL Thank you to cammy for posting this great thread and keeping it alive, and thanks in advance to anyone who answers.
 
I'm not sure about the facebook or hotspot. But in regards to the sprint branding and keys, flash the vmfix in the second post of the CAI forum.

On your phone go to foxfi.com and it should bring you to the market were you can get a free hotspot. It works for rooted and nonrooted phones.
 
Just a FYI:

If anyone still has an issue with this thread, which as previously stated has been deemed perfectly acceptable by the Community Manager, then I suggest that they take it up with him (Phases) via PM so that he can review it. Otherwise please keep posts in the thread on-topic.

This OP is neglecting to include a proper "credits" section. Anyone who reads this post and does NOT click on any links should know exactly who the Developer of the ROM truly is. It is only fair!

The Download link is not a download link: ARCHIVED: [ROM]COLD AS ICE-CM9 Sprint LS670 6/3 ZVD basesband Alpha11 - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

On top of that link is a direct download link only because you must register on AC in order to download. And thekraven I am sure has no problem with a direct link on here. I can PM him and ask if you want me to.

The second link goes to androidcentral where you will see thekraven is the OP whom is the dev of this ROM. Proper credit can be given to him. The OP of this thread is friends with thekraven so if anything he simply forgot to thank thekraven in his OP.

If it was only a direct download link (even if proper thanks are given in OP) then I would see a huge issue.

I feel like I should know the answer to this :confused: but wth is the CAI forum? And actually, I really don't mind the keys being swapped or seeing the Sprint name.

Thanks, Phatninja. I don't know why I forgot about foxfi LOL I will stick A11 back on my phone sometime this weekend and check that out.

Kraven said right in his OP, "no mirrors." If you want the rom, you should have to go to the actual thread. Threads like this cause problems for devs.

I too have reported this thread this morning. I sent Phases a long PM about the rules that it breaks and gave him several reasons that it breaks those rules, just for public knowledge.
 
Wait mirrors mean no downloading and uploading somewhere else.....

I agree. It doesn't seem like a lot of people understand, care, or take the time learn about what Android is truly based on - which is all written in the GPL.

If this forum is okay with someone just re-posting other people's work, and then adding a donations link to the bottom, they might as well change their name to appleforums dot com.

I don't see this how-to anywhere else, therefore his OP is not reposting someone's elses work. He put this together so that this ROM could work on the Optimus V and to share this info with everyone. Otherwise this ROM would not be able to work as well. On the older versions of this ROM there was a ton more for Optimus V users to do to get this ROM working properly and the OP had many more instructions. Now it is just 3 simple flashes.

EDIT: There are no mirror links on the OP (they are the same ones from AC), so thekraven does get his download numbers that he wants from this thread.
