VZW has been keeping a low profile lately. No real news, only talk of LTE. It has actually been kind of surprising.

Very surprising, especially during a big trade show like this one. They have to make a move today and announce something. They need to give their customers a reason to stay with VZW and not to switch to sprint for the EVO.

ok so i just called my local vzw store and of course im just reporting what they said and they have no clue of any phone coming out named the incredible but of course it could be under another name??

eh, we hope. I think one thing I have come to learn about VZW is they don't feel they HAVE to do anything. They tend to be pretty proud of themselves and will any announcing and releasing of big news when they want to.. They don't really worry/care about the other providers.

Yeah $39.99 would be sick.

The wording is kinda sketchy... When they refer to network do they mean mobile phones only or does network include landline service? Probably just mobile the more I think about it

Maybe they just changed the wording on the banner?

Either way I'll take $39.99 to any # on any network. But if data goes up from $29.99 a month to say $49.99 a month I'll be pissed.

when you hover the mouse over the banner, the popup text still says 69.99 a month so they literally have only changed the banner graphics. hopefully it's not a typo.

I'm confused. It sounds as if everyone is saying VZW will *not* make the announcement at CTIA. But there is still tomorrow and the rest of today. Right?

I'm still a little puzzled why Sprint would announce what is obviously their new flagship phone NOW when it won't even be available for sale for 3-4 months, nor has it passed through the FCC (as far as we know). Meanwhile, VZW's supposed Incredible has cleared the FCC and from what we've gathered so far, seems to be done with the testing phase and ready to move into production (nothing to prove that though). I can understand them not wanting to share the spot light with Sprint, but the longer they wait for the unveiling, the more ridiculous they will look. It irritates me that the EVO is getting all this buzz and is being hyped as the new killer phone, when the availability is months away! Come on, Verizon! Give us something.

Could it be that they knew about the Incredible pending release and wanted to get a "leg up" with what they thought is a superior phone to capture the initial press about it?

While I really like the EVO, in thinking aobut it, I would not leave Verizon's network just for the hardware. Both phones ave certain advantages, and when you throw in the network, it swings my choice to Verizon, (sorry Sprint).

I am trying to debate if I should just buy a Droid for now to get on the Android platform, and then giv eit up later when the Verizon phone comes out that I really want.
