here is what I did.
1. back up everything on my SD card and format.
2. factory reset then reboot
3. load zip onto root of SD card then power down.
4. hold down power and call send buttons
5. follow instructions on screen using trackball to "select"
6. phone will go through some steps and downloads, then select update phone when it asks you
7. select reboot phone when it prompts you

its really easy just follow the steps and your golden.

if u got a virus from megaupload, that should teach u about clickin on word pop ups! (though..i know some times they make it so u have no other choice).
also make sure you have the free microsoft security essentials installed if u have a legit copy of windows :)

+1 Best advice I've seen all day.

OT, but I've been to nearly every illegitimate website I can think of and I have zero issues and zero bugs in my system.

And I love the first link there, "No browser is safe: Internet Explorer 8, Firefox, and Safari, all of them have been hacked at 2010 Pwn2Own, and used to take full control of a Windows 7 machine" LMAO!

It's not that OSX doesn't have security flaws or isn't susceptible, it's that about 5% of the world market for computers is an Apple so nobody bothers to write malicious content. It's a false sense of security. If a programmer wanted to they could write a piece of malicious content that could infect your MAC the same way they do a PC.

I never said anything to the contrary, I just stated that I don't have any problems, and never have.

Except for the fact that the idiot on gizmodo that posted that non-story is linking to the results of last years Pwn2Own and all those exploits have been closed.

Just those 5% of people who like things to work the first time without messing around with it. I used Windows for over 15 years until I bought a Mac, and have never looked back, it simply WORKS.

I tried that on my old HP after I got tired of Windo$e, but I didn't like it. I would rather use Ubuntu or any other form of Linux/Unix than Windo$e.

Only if you have Word, which I don't, so it's a non-issue.
That is true, but in an organization with 1/2 Macs and 1/2 PCs and over 1000 computers it's a problem. We all use Word for Mac and PC. Why can't the Mac have a built in antivirus or security suite? It really gets annoying especially when the Mac folks say they don't have viruses and they do.

Edit: Oh no, I didn't mean to start a war here. Please let's drop this and stay on topic. I'm a PC guy and love the Mac. So there.

Flame on!

Back to the topic at hand... 2.1

Something new I've noticed with the latest leak, not sure if it's already been discussed: The weather in the Desk Clock app now works correctly (i.e., displays your current city's weather instead of always the default Akron, OH location).
you from my neck of the woods?
