Okay ill try that next.. I was just about to reflash the rom.. Jus waiting for a phone call lol..

Can you give some quick steps on how to do it im still kinda new at this... Don't wanna mess anything up...

1. Find apk your looking for.
2. Download a file explorer that's gets you to the root files (real phone files).
I use root explorer.
3. Long press on the apk.
4. Copy the apk.
5. Paste apk to /system/apps.
6. Reboot.
The apk will install itself when the phone reboots.

Hmm im really having installation problems it keeps saying unsuccessful hmm.. Can i just add the missing app in the megatron zip in the system/app/ folder then reflash?

Oh yeah i also had a little water damage with this phone and i could never again access the main storage of the phone.

Kind of a noob question here. I am running Megatron 6.1.0 and wanted to know if it OK to change the launcher or if that would cause problems. I don't wont to mess anything up.

The reason most devs make roms is to get rid of bloatware, get rid of unwanted apps, and generally run smoother and faster. The apk for live wallpaper was considered bloatware so it was removed.

Please download the removed apk zip and find the live wallpaper.apk and the livewallpaperpicker.apk and insert them into /system/apps then reboot. From there you will have your ability to have live wallpaper again.

Where do I download them at and does it matter if they were possibly created for another phone? Can I simply take them from my back up I copied to my computer and just drag them into the correct folder, then reboot?

I appreciate all the input. Its been very help full.
 
don't use from another phone. There are procedures that are done to system apps so you need the ones from the removedapps.zip from the first page of this thread in the third post. Move it to /system/app and set the permissions like all the other apps in /system/app. Then reboot
 
Yeah, I didn't follow that step as I didn't know what most of those files were. I searched some of them but decided not to install any since info was scarce. So it does look like I will have to use it for some files after all. Do I need to install via CWM? Or simply just take the files and place them in the correct folder via drag and drop on my computer?
And what do you mean by set the permissions?
 
Just drag and drop

You can't access /system/app from your computer so you have to put it on your sdcard and then use a root file explorer on your phone to move it to system app

Go into es settings to root settings and check all inside. Then go and copy the apks you want into /system/app
Then set the permissions by long pressing the apks and tapping properties and them permissions. Set them like all other system apps and reboot
 
Perfect, just perfect! Can I do Gallery3D.apk the same way? I am assuming this is my old picture gallery and Gallery ICS is the new. And do I have to remove the Gallery ICS first?
Step by step instructions please for this noob. I have figured out ES File Explorer now so I should be good with that.
I have to tell ya, so far I'm loving this Megatron rom on Transform Ultra. So much more functionality and ease of access. Thanks for all your help!
 
You can copy any app you like into system/app from that zip

You dont have to remove ics gallery but I think the reason chevanlol360 removed the stock gallery.apk is because there is more functionality with ics and there might have been some problem with the stock gallery.apk

That is something chev did in his part and not me but im sure he did it for a reason but you would have to confirm that with him to be sure you wont have any problems.

You can have both apps in the rom, doesnt matter how much picture app you have on your phone. They wont really mess with each other.
 
So now I have found an issue. When I go to use my camera i get an error. "Camera Error" "Cannot connect to camera". I just close out and then reopen and it works. This happens frequently, any idea whats causing it or how to fix it?

Go to megatron settings and disable the flashlight qidet in quickpanel.
 
That seems to have fixed it. Shame I have to loose the flashlight on the quick panel though :(
Another question, is there anyway to get my text messages back? Maybe from my back up file? I just hate loosing all those conversations.

You can keep the flashlight. If you follow the post. As for texts, I myself am not sure.

Theres a way to do it via titanium backup. I forgot, google it how to back up sms with tb.
