Do you know if the kernel needs to be flashed separately for this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2045935) ROM? It is taking an extra long time booting up after I just flashed it.

It couldn't hurt fastboot flashing it one last time before soff
Okay, thanks! Now I need to try to get the phone back into recovery since it's been sitting on the HTC screen for the last 5-10 minutes.

Got it...that damn thing always gives me a problem, but I have flashed the kernel and now I am trying the restart again.
did you pull the boot.img from the stock rooted rom and fastboot command it in?

Yup, I think I am going to try to re-download the other ROM and start over from scratch. I also just noticed that while in TWRP it says I only have 33% battery life...so I think I am going to let it charge a bit first before I try anymore.

try downgrading your twrp recovery. if i remember correctly you just upgraded, right?
not sure if that is the reason or not but maybe try and downgrade it to either 2.4.0 or 2.3.3 versions.

So I was about to get excited that I did do a backup and it restored properly since I was going to give this all another try tomorrow, but now I can't get off the lock screen on ViperROM since my restore.

Sorry folks I've been out of town for a hot minute. 
Just to be sure, a couple of questions.
You placed the Mini-SDK on the root of your C: drive correct?
I'm not sure if this is required, but I've always placed mine here.
Also, all of the files for the Facepalm method were downloaded, but not extracted and placed in the Mini-SDK folder?
A good practice is to hold (Shift) then right click the Mini-SDK folder and click on "Open Command Prompt Here". This will help ensure your command line is in the correct folder by default.
Make sure you pay attention to the spaces in the commands too, those are important.

are you fastbooting the right kernel. you might have gotten the boot.imgs mixed up some how.

Im sure I did, but I will go ahead and try flashing the kernel again even though it doesn't need to be done with ViperROM.
Also if need be can you point me to the correct RUU so that if I need to un-root and return to stock I can so that I can start over from scratch.

Don't wipe anything with your recovery, wipe from within the Viper Installer. Also a good idea to select the "Full Installation" option.
WAIT: Viper has the xHausx S-on Kernel Installer, so no need to fastboot flash the kernel from the Rom.
EDIT: I'm going to step back, Ocn has this one. No need for me to muddy the waters.

Yup, that's why I cant figure out whats going on...its almost like my screen broke. But then again the touch screen works fine in TWRP.

I tried to run through this last night... Super cid just would not take. So I had to use the babyracun method... Bricked, went through the unbricker and now have soff again.
Worth it? Probably not, but at least I know how to do the newer methods. Wouldn't suggest going s on for any reason (which we already knew

The kernel installer doesn't work 100% of the time.
Recommend downgrading to TWRP 2.4.0 - I have the download link here somewhere...
If anyone wants just 2.4.0.0 (without the touchscreen fix for the latest OTA), here's the link from Team Win -
Techerrata Downloads - Downloading openrecovery-twrp-2.4.0.0-jewel.img
Flash with -
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.4.0.0-jewel.img
Ask for Mac/Linux command version if needed.
2.4.1 is buggy and I had the same complaint, it acted like I lost the touchscreen sometimes.

Thanks, I have a feeling this is going to have to be my next route since the screen is non-responsive. But the weird thing is that the screen works fine for TWRP.
