NE2 QUESTION:
I noticed that "my" Verizon NE2 is not ripe until July 2010, but that my wife's NE2 has been ripe for over a year (she does NOT want a new phone.) Both phones (and numbers) are connected to my account.
Can I utilize my wife's NE2 to get myself an Incredible "now" (assuming we see it before July. <g>) How does that work? What do I tell them? -Thanks
Well, unless you have more than 5 lines or you have 2 lines on single plans, you don't have 2 NE2 credits. But let's say you did, you would do what is called an Alternate Upgrade. That is where you take the upgrade of another line and put that phone on a different line than the line you upgraded.
probably cause they read this thread and saw how many people bought moto droids to hold them over until incredible release..haha
Verizon expected to modify its restocking fee policy? (Phone Arena News)
Yup, this is going into effect. This means that even if you order something online and you send it back UNUSED, it still requires a restocking fee.
i thought only the primary number on an account was eligible for NE2.
Again, if you have a business account, more than 5 lines, or all of your lines set up as single lines, you only get 1 NE2 credit.
I agree 100%. We have 6 kids, 13-23. (We actually have to have two family plans.) We provide them with phones and texting, but I draw the line at a $30 plan. But if the Kins (especially the Kin 2) are compatible with a $10 data plan, I'm sure the younger ones will be very interested, and I'll probably give in - it seems like the extra $10 a month is just one of the costs of modern life that you have to get used to. I'm actually looking forward to more information about them.
Well, I'm assuming the Kin's are going to require the $30 data plan. The phones might be social phones, but they run WM. That automatically means it's a smartphone in Verizon's eyes. So, they're either going to charge you $30/month OR they're going to have to come up with another cheaper plan with U/L data only for the Kin's because you can still rip through 25MB of data just doing Facebook and Myspace.
That's how it's set up by default, but I have asked several Verizon employees both on and off the clock several times (because this is what I'll be doing). It's very simple to transfer to another line you have on your plan. Simple enough that they can do it quite simply at pretty much any third party store (Best Buy) as well.
How many lines do you have?
DailyTech - HTC Incredible Close to Release, Will Pack Market's Best Phone Hardware
Nothing new here, but it amazes me that the best pics we have of this phone are the ones that NKT posted months ago. How in the world can a phone be kept so top secret?
Because if they tell you let's say a month before release that it is coming out, that puts them at a competitive disadvantage. Take this into consideration... Sprint is coming out with their EVO. What if Verizon announced the Incredible a month ago and Sprint goes "Oh wow, we don't have this feature in our phone. Let's put it into the EVO". Now Sprint will have a feature possibly that Verizon wanted exclusive to their phone. You guys know this... some people will buy a phone based off of 1 feature it has. What if this one feature causes Verizon to loose a huge amount of customers to Sprint?
I know this is a little out there, but that is one of the reasons why they don't announce it right away.
Verizon is bringing this upon themselves...
If Verizon wouldn't hold out till the bitter end on release dates a lot of this could be avoided. I bet Sprint doesn't have people buying phones as much expecting to trade for Evo...cause they have a good idea when it's coming. When someone knows of a phone that's coming out, but really needs one right away they settle on a phone that's not really the one they want,no one really enjoys swapping phones, but with no info what are they to do?
Read what I just put above your post. Do you have any idea what it really costs us when you guys upgrade?? Every BB we sell for the 2-year price, we loose $300+ dollars. Now, when you want to bring that back because you decided to go with another device, we CANNOT just put it back in the box and resell it. It needs to go back to the manufacturer. You guys are LUCKY it's only $35, IMO. Verizon could charge way more. Should they? No. Would it be a good business decision? No. If they charged $100 to change your phone for another one, would you walk out of the store making sure you knew EXACTLY what you wanted? Yes.
Pictures?
I wanna see Video to confirm 720P or end the rumors.
Please testers, anyone reading relay this info... It would make the phone 20X more better.
Quoted just for the fantastic grammar.
