Seems cool and I figured if I signed up for the number now then I could have a better chance of getting the number I wanted than waiting.

Yes, it will integrate with the phone number you have now, even if you signed up for a Google Voice number. I have a GV number and also had it assigned to my phone's voicemail. The downside is that either you don't get any notifications that you have a voicemail, or you would get a text message with the voicemail transcribed...so l was getting about 3 text messages PER VOICEMAIL. I tried doing it without the forwarding, but I kept forgetting to check it, or it was too hard to check when I was in the car or somewhere without computer access.

Right now the plan is to shut this specific thread down once the device is released. But fear not! lol I'm not sure if many out there are aware, but there is a level above this! We will ABSOLUTELY continue supporting and promoting a sense of community for the Incredible. We will set up stickied threads and sub-forums as needed and warranted for the most relevant topics like Tips and Trick, Wallpapers, R&R (no, not rest and relaxation, Root and ROM!), maybe accessory reviews, etc...

Rest assured the community will be well supported by all the staff. But we're just the framework...YOU GUYS are the meat and potatoes of this thread and what will make or break its success in the future!

Rest assured we're all committed to the effort!:)

EDIT: Small clarification, i'm not a Moderator, i'm a Guide. I know it's just jargon but i don't want to step on any toes.

First Post! Been Lurking for a long Time! haven't had anything to add and still don't so will just say Hi to all! and thanks to all the insiders keeping this thread going!

Current Sprint user on a Palm Pre! love the OS but the hardware is crap. I am on my 4th pre since launch for a variety of reasons. Would stay with Sprint for EVO and pricing but we moved to a verizon dominant area and don't even get sprint's 3g network here so it get real annoying using a phone dependent almost entirely on wifi.

good question, I'm going to have to play around with it tonight, and have some people call me.

There's so much info being thrown at you right off the bat, you have to step back and figure out what actually makes sense, because it does get a little confusing, all these multiple tel numbers, emails and SMS now in play...

yeah, the lack of voicemail notification is a bit of a bummer.

Plus the transcription is a joke. So far off the mark as to be more amusing than useful...

LOL! No, but if the Incredible doesn't come out soon. We might just go all "post"al on Verizon. :) The same cycle thing only works if you are roommates (like in college). Uh Oh, now I went and told you one of our "trade" secrets.
