Yes sir that's correct. It will work fine with almost any ROM you want. For negalite, I'm not sure if it works on stock HBOOT, which is what RUU will give you.

Hey all, quick question...
When I try to flash a zip by dropping it onto the root of the sdcard, I get CID Incorrect! error. I rename the .zip to whats it's supposed to be. Example - PG86IMG.zip
When I reboot phone and go into hboot, it loads and then gives me that error. I am running hboot 1.07
Any ideas? Thanks
It sounds like your phone is not the specified model that the PG86IMG.zip was designed for. Hboot 1.07? Do you have a GSM version Evo 3d? If so I can move this over to the Evo 3d GSM all things root section.![]()
Actually no, I am running CDMA, so, maybe I have the wrong hboot. I did do the OTA VM update, which changed hboot to 1.8, and flashed back, so maybe that is my issue.
Ok sorry haha Yes, I am on hboot 1.57. I am S-Off also. No, i'm not trying to flash the RUU. I was trying to flash ramsets radio files, one set works, the other doesn't. Also, I believe it is what you said earlier about the CID Version.
In the android-info.txt, the ones that have SPCS_002mainver: work..
The ones that have SPCS_001mainver: do not work. I am wondering if that's what it is.
What is the best zip app to use?
Thanks Again
Don't change the CID in the version on XDA if that is one of the "sets" you are referencing. That firmware is for Sprint users only. In general, it's OK to change the CID on bootloader (hboot) and recovery PG86IMG.zip files but be very careful about doing that with firmware files. Sometimes it works, but it can also get you in trouble so ask about the specific firmware file before changing it.Ok sorry haha Yes, I am on hboot 1.57. I am S-Off also. It's not so much the radio and PRI as the RFG_1.img and RFG_2.img files included in the firmware updates. I'm not sure exactly what those files do and unknownforce on XDA seems to think it's OK to flash them across carriers, but after the fiasco last May with Evo 3D users flashing VM firmware I'd rather err on the side of caution.I thought it a little odd that you wouldn't have specified the CID for both... But I thought that all the radios were compatible?
I do have another question though. Is there a way to delete what hboot is looking for on a boot. What I mean is, when I boot into hboot, it is still looking for like 4 different files that I must have flashed or something before, like PGDIAG.zip etc. Is there a way to delete that somehow, or where is that cached at?
iknow that but i want to go completely stockYou should never need to return to s-on for any reason except maybe returning the phone for repair.
what im trying to say is im currently running the negalite blurom and i want to know is if i can get s off while having this rom flashed ( is it save , it isnt going to brick my device)Yes sir that's correct. It shouldn't be a problem - just follow all the steps.what im trying to say is im currently running the negalite blurom and i want to know is if i can get s off while having this rom flashed ( is it save , it isnt going to brick my device)
ok ok i will do it tommorow and thank you alotIt shouldn't be a problem - just follow all the steps.
No, it always does that. It a standard check. When you are s-off you can flash files through the hboot. If it finds a file that it's checking for it will ask you to update.
Plus I wouldn't mess around with modifying the bootloader. If anything went wrong you would be toast. Without a bootloader you can't do anything.
sos !!!!!!!No problem!
hello, first off i would like to thank you for this awesome guide. unfortunately i've run into a problem. atm i'm trying to get my htc dev code and this is what my command prompt is showing..
