Root htc media link (rooted)

hey guys,
so i know htc media link will not work with cm10 (most likely never will), but i was on viper rom and i can only stream netflix and youtube. but if i try to play movies from the play movie app i get nothing. it just shows the screen with the phone and media link picture. so can anybody play movies from the play store and use the media link?

Being in Fedora Linux I haven't been able to get media sync to work.

I would ask in the dev thread and see of that is a known bug. Those guys don't like bugs, LOL.
I have yet to use the media link, you need tobuy that special adapter don't you?

Also hit up Marctronixx, he has one.

yeah its a device that you hook up to the tv. i bought it when i got the phone. i'll post it in the viper thread over at xda. i was just curious if others here encountered the same issue.

can you try playing a video from your sd/internal storage?

can you play movies from the play movie app directly on the device? the google play movie app will not work on a rooted device, as far as I know. they built in some sort of check. mikey said he can't get rid of it.

try changing your browser to desktop mode and going to the youtube website...there is an option to play movies from your play account there and it shouldn't have the root check

eta. here's where mikey said he couldn't fix it. unless something's changed in the last two months?

Play Store wouldn't stream movies to my Media Link on an unrooted Evo 4G LTE. Sucks!!! Had to use the MHL adapter is had bought for my Evo 3D...

So I've been using my Media Link HD for playing movies from the app Droid TV PrimeTime(only $9 for 3 month membership and plays TV shows just 24 hours after they air unlike Netflix which waits till the next season!). Works great, love it! Now, I'm wishing it would work with other devices though, like my Note 2 and Asus Infinity. Any one have any luck streaming with other devices through their Media Link HD?

it only works with htc devices. my old htc evo does not work with it as well. so it is pretty device specific and it has to be newer htc devices. i also have an asus infinity and it does not work with it......i kind of given up on the media link to be honest with you.

i have a bluray player that can get netflix and all that so i really do not need the media link any more.
