HTC DROID Eris OS 2.1v3 download

Swype works fine, just get one of the .apk files that sh0ebox had posted, may have to go over to the XDA forums to find them since the thread on these forums was removed.

All the Facebook pictures for my linked contacts are fine, now, not pixelated. It took an hour or so, but slowly they all corrected themselves.

Thank you for the response, I was hoping maybe they would have turned it back on. You are correct, it has been off. Just confirms that I will not be able to accept the official OTA. Thanks again.
 
Woke up and saw OTD's Twitter post and got all excited and had to come get the file. Downloading now. This means I'll have something to do while I'm at work tonight! :D

Also guys..can I be charging my phone while update is running? Just wondering..Im not..kinda curious though.
 
Ok my phone is rebooting now and it has been sitting at the Verizon Wireless screen for about 2 minutes now. Does it normally do this the first time?

Yes, Barcode Scanner is an app in the market. You probably could, but the idea of the phone accidentally somehow trying to mount or something would be a very bad thing. I would just not do it for safety reasons.
 
Alright, trying to get my Eris to look like it did before...I guess this is a downside to having too many apps...going to take a while to get it back to where it was.
 
Another fix is the youtube app, which now works perfectly. Before, it wouldn't start/it would close when you went to start it.

I use astrid to backup my apps and then reinstall them after the update. I also use DDMS to take pics of all my screens so I know where everything goes.
 
Wait, is the downgrade in quality of the contacts picture, etc. fixed? Probably not as that is more of a hardware issue that's plaguing all 2.1 devices.
 
Ok..this sounds really stupid..whats the link to the "must have apps" sticky? I cant find it anywhere. Also why are my pictures like automatically on my phone? the ones I took with my camera? O.o? lol sync with gmail?

Mine started all crummy, but over time the pictures have been correcting themselves. They are all clear for me, now, after around 1.5 hours after resyncing Gmail with Facebook.

You know after an update or restore all your apps are waiting in the Download part of the market. All you have to do is go back in and select each one and install it. If you haven't opened the market since the update they are all probably there now.
