LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

I saw the video earlier this morning on another site. It reaaaally didn't tell me anything specific. Nice video, though. I am so ready to upgrade, it's not funny.

If I weren't so sold on using the S-pen with my Note 2 and now, Note 3 and Note 8, this would totally be my next phone upgrade choice (although, the Note 4 update rumors are looking good too).

That said, has anybody seen any articles mentioning physical dimensions? I thought I read somewhere that it would be slightly smaller than the Isai, which already has smaller specs overall than the Note 2 (5.5 screen) or Note 3 (5.7 screen).

I love how LG is shrinking bezels. They are doing the best job of that out of all the Manufacturers, IMO. And their software add-ons don't seem to be as bloated as Samsung.

I had mentioned, back with the Optimus G was being rumored, that I can see LG moving in a similar direction that the Galaxy S line did with Samsung (S1-popular, S2-really popular, S3-put Samsung in competition with Apple, S4-over the top). At the time of the Optimus G, I remember a ton of people stating how awful LG is with support (again, a similar sentiment that people-myself included-had with Samsung, prior to its rise in support). Now, LG is truly becoming a player. I hope they do start competing with Samsung, as that will raise the bar for us consumers having great options for choosing upgrades later down the line.

This article would be better if he actually had time the phone. I just read it as speculation.

With that said...this phone will better than the S5 and HTC One.

He's writing from the business perspective, judging LG and Samsung from an investment perspective. I felt he had very good points. Samsung better get off its duff and innovate. I agreed about the poor fingerprint and heartbeat monitors. The future money will be on LG, if SS doesn't don't do something, besides advertising, to further the state of the art.

My G2 is so good, I am really psyched up for the G3. In a best case scenario, we would have a 805 processor, a 3200 maH removable battery, micro SD, and the gorgeous, true RGB QHD screen.

In a worst case scenario, getting only a 801 processor, it would still be a buy for me. The back will be brushed metal look polycarbonate and most people think it will be removable for the battery and micro sd access.

No one is talking about the 1 watt speaker, which could be a significant addition.

I love this!

This phone has become very compelling.

What does that entail? Is that the Edge thing or other? Yeah I'm on vzw.

DPP is where you pay off the phone for 12 months with a 2 dollar finance charge per month financed. It is off-contract financing for unlimited data customers that will keep them on unlimited. With Edge you can't keep unlimited. You have to downgrade to Loyalty Max (6gb for former unlimited customers) in order to get a subsidized or Edge plan. :)

Wow. That is impressive. I'm really glad I waited for this. Now to figure out how on earth I might pay for it.

Since I'm on Verizon with More Everything and 10GB of data, I'll let them pay for it for me. Assuming it's no more than a $600 phone, the monthly payment will be < the $25 credit you get for being on Edge.

I have to remember to send T-Mobile a thank you letter for saving me so much money. Thanks to them, my 8 lines average $45/month with unlimited talk and text, 10GB of data to share, and free phones every 12 months (after credits). If you told me a year ago that I would be able to get all that I would have laughed at you.

I did DPP with the G2 to keep unlimited. You can only pay the set amount or pay off completely, you can't make extra payments. I have under 200 left on the G2 which I'll probably pay off here in the next couple weeks.

I'm on the Edge Verizon plan. Had the G2 for about 3 weeks. Don't care what it costs to get the G3. It's way past money.
