Hey @mikedt, are they really? Just to see you?

They possibly are, but I don't know for sure. Some parts of Sichuan can be extremely poor though.

EDIT: BBC picked up on that story.

This is more typical of school runs that I know.

When we built our house 14 years ago, I insisted on a big porch and we use it quite a lot. There's only one other house in the neighborhood that has a big porch and I rarely see anyone on it. Most everyone else stays inside their air conditioned houses and air conditioned SUV's.

Zika crisis: WHO rejects 'move Rio Olympics' call

The World Health Organization (WHO) has rejected a call to move or postpone this summer's Rio Olympic Games over the Zika outbreak.

It said this would "not significantly alter" the spread of the virus, which is linked to serious birth defects.

In an open letter to the WHO, more than 100 leading scientists had said new findings about Zika made it "unethical" for the Games to go ahead.

They also said the global health body should revisit its Zika guidance.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said it sees no reason to delay or move the Games because of the mosquito-borne disease.

Why do I have to keep replacing the micro USB cable that connects my phone to my PC? I've tried some of the youtube tricks to no avail.

You might look at the connector port of your phone... It doesn't take much debris to mess things up.

You'll need a strong light source, a magnifier, and a toothpick or two. Loosen up any gunk, then blow it out.

Canned compressed air is good, but I'd avoid anything like contact cleaner, because it will get inside your phone and may cause problems with the display (don't ask me how I know).

How are we going to spend 18.5 hours in airplanes (incl. two layovers)? Any good game apps to play in airplane mode, for two?

What airline takes two layovers to get from Holland to Alaska? A cheap airline and it's via Dubai or Moscow or Kuala Lumpur or Addis Ababa or Buenos Aires?

My guess would be Schiphol to NY, Chicago or BWI, then another either in Denver or Seattle. Or you could fly into Atlanta and Phoenix ... or if it's like my last flight, maybe Mike's right ... you'll get to see Moscow. ;)

"PERINGATAN"...is that Indonesian for "lung cancer"?

Someone's imported smokes. Not mine! :thumbsupdroid:

Caught my attention, because packets here don't have grizzly pictures on them.

Sometimes when looking for discount long-haul, as I do, can see some airline flight offers that are really the long way round. Although for me, Beijing to London, Moscow isn't. And I've seen layover in Addis Ababa offered, with Ethiopian Airlines. :thumbsupdroid:

Exploring absolutely everything there is to see, hear and do in the seat-back IFE(if there is one). :thumbsupdroid:

"Oh look! The Singapore Airlines one runs on Android, what can I do with this thing?". :D

Watch "Malaysia, Truly Asia" ten times over, perhaps?....but I'm certainly NOT using that airline again.
