gobluejd, how is the adhesive on the back of the Tetrax in comparison to the M2? My M2 button doesn't want to stick![]()
We have a bunch of shipping foam here at work, I attached phone to the XWAY and literally shook as hard as I could OVER the foam, and it did not come off. When taking off the mount, you slide to left or right, comes off.
I LOVE THIS THING!!!!!!!!!

Hey goblue, I have a crazy question for you. Is there an easy way to permanently mount the XWAY onto the M2? I have to admit I'm smitten with the looks of that unit and the simplicity of not having to align the disc into the M2. But I don't want to mount it in my vent, so I was thinking about gluing the M2 disc to the back of the XWAY mount to give me the best of both worlds. I don't know what the back looks like, so do you think something like this is possible?
Glad you love the XWAY. After seeing your pictures of the holder being placed on the corner of the vent, I'm thinking with some luck (fingers crossed) this will work in my car as well. I placed the order myself just now so hopefully everything will work out.
BTW, which disc did you use with your silicone case? I know the package comes with 4 different ones but I have not seen anything stating which will work best with smartphones. Thanks

I used the one that was the size of a dime, there were 2 identical, but one had a thicker material between the disk and the sticky stuff, I used the one WITHOUT the extra thickness. I can post a pic, but heading to bed. Will do tomorrow if needed.
Hmmm...Good question. I have an idea....BRB.
Thanks. I believe the thicker one is made specifically for the Tomtom GPS products where the back is not flush and require additional thickness to ensure proper contact between the disc and the holder.
Why did you choose that particular disc over the other ones... not the thick one but smaller ones?
Honestly, I wanted to use the smallest one, however I am waiting for the Innocase II from SEIDIO and want to save it for that case.
Since it was somewhat cold (50's) and raining yesterday, I did an experiment. I had the heat on all the way up, but on the low fan setting for my commute home (~20-25 minutes). The back of the Storm got HOT (and so was I), but it didn't seem to affect the adhesion of the disk. I tried to pry the disk off the back with my fingernail and it was still holding well. However, I don't like that much heat on the back of the phone. Like you though, I will usually have the heat on the floor and windshield.PS...I was worried about the vent and heat hitting the DINC during winter, however the more I thought about it, I only run the heat thru those vents when I first get in my car, the rest of the time (majority) it's on floor and windshied....so I am not as worried.
Try GEEKPUZZLER...it's supposed to be $10 off of $40 orders. Not sure if that includes shipping...FYI, the coupon code for $10 off the Tetrax at ThinkGeek.com has expired![]()

Otherwise, just do a search for thinkgeek coupons.

I like it. On and off is very easy since the magnets auto-aligns it onto the mount. I just have to get the phone close to the right position and the magnets take over. The XWAY supports the phone enough that I can use the screen press on the Storm (I need to apply more pressure on the Storm than other touch screens need).Other than it getting hot, how do you like it thus far? Is the magnet holding well? It looks like from your pictures, you are using the smaller disc on the back.... how that working out? Sorry you have to wait for the Incredible.![]()
That would be AWESOME to have a quality replacement battery cover with charge contacts and matching cradle or mount. That micro-USB is a sure candidate for the early demise of such a great device even if you don't need a car dock. I would have one at home to avoid plugging that damn cable in all the time.Check this thing out. It's for the HTC HD2, but hopefully they make something like this for the Incredible:
Description
Mount your HTC HD2 securely to your dashboard or windshield with this car cradle kit. Including a replacement battery cover with charging connection and a microUSB charger, your HD2's NaviPanel will activate upon being connected to this mount, so it's instantly ready to guide you to your destination.
You could swivel the mount, but it's much easier to just swivel the phone itself in the mount. It helps to put the disk near the center of the phone.Does the XWAY swivel from landscape to portrait? Or does it only do portrait?
