Root [ROM] Cyanogenmod For Droid V5.0.7 (05/24/2010)

Updating to 5.0.7 now. I had gotten a ton of FC's of my HTE keyboard today despite not even using it. Hoping some great new themes will be available soon for this ROM. CM has always been better for my Droid than BB.

Ok, there's a lil bit of feeback. How do we feel about the overall speed of this ROM? I'm on Fab's NexBeast, and I'd hate to sacrifice that speed.

Give me until tomorrow and I'll let you know ;)

I am a big NexBeast fan as well and I don't want to give it up...but I have to try 5.0.7 cause the CM ROMs have always been good to me as well.

I am backing up all my ROM as I type...

Like I said I dont think the gapps zip file works with SPR. After you restore you could easily use rom manager to flash cyanogenmod and just make sure you check the box for gapps. You would also get clockwork recovery which is imo a much better recovery anyway.

So I went ahead and flashed clockwork and still cannot install the google apps update.zip. So is it safe to assume that it just doesn't work? Has anyone else tried it?

Also, how do you mount the sdcard while in recovery? I do not see the option anywhere. In SPR it was so easy. This sucks a bit.

Everyone running this rom has used gapps. Mount sd card is under the partitions menu. In recovery all you have to do is go to install zip from sd card. Then chose zip from sd card. Then find the zip. You dont have to rename it to update or anything like that.

This RoM rocks. I have been using 5.0.6.2 for the last few days and I hated how slow it was. I missed calls waiting on the freaking slider to slide. This one is smooth. I replaced the Launcher home with Launcher Pro and it ROCKS!!!!!!!

i always use rom manager to install CM roms. if you do this it will prompt you to install gapps as well. easiest way for you to get this to work would be install this same rom over your existing 5.0.7 and it will prompt you for gapps.

So far 5.0.7 is running great (as was my previous NexBeast). It is refreshing running themeless for a change and will probably keep it that way for a while (old now seems new). I really like the new enhancements to Spare Parts (especially the Number of Recent Apps choice when pressing home and the notification color options). I did go back to the ADW launcher (just a personal preference). Koush is at the top of his game with this one ;)

Remember: Flash responsibly! Wipe your cache and data first! It is worth the extra effort.

Yeah, NexBeast is my current "reference" ROM. I have it running stable at 800 Mhz with 70+ hour uptimes. I haven't tried a Cyanogen ROM yet. Is it worth re-installing everything again? What would I gain over NexBeast?

Has anyone used Apps2SD on 5.0.7? I am hoping that it continues to be supported as it works better than the descriptions of what Froyo is bringing.

Well, 5.062 is running well for me and I just got it overclocked, I'm not sure I'm ready to update it just yet.. Maybe if someone is really blown away I will.. But nice work I'm sure it took a lot of time to do this!

is there anyway i could get the new lockscreen with the new pin-code on Nexbeast. i just got this thing all set up and dont feel like puttin on CM again. or a link to the person who made it would work too. thanks

How come there is never a list of remove commands to get rid of apps you don't want? Or is there a standard set that im just not seeing.

How does this ROM compared to BB V1 in the following categories:
Bugs
Speed
Battery
?

My Droid didn't get along with Cyanogen last time. which was in its 5.0.6.X stages. Is it worth the effort to try this?

I used the one before this latest one, and it was terrible on battery, and really laggy all the way around. Thought id give it one more try:rolleyes:

Okay so i just flashed it and for some reason i dont have the market. How am i supposed to get the Market back?

One problem I had with the test 1 version of this ROM was pocket dialing believe it or not.
The keyboard would slide out a tiny bit in my pocket and it would unlock without sliding. Does this bug still exist? This happened while on standby/sleep.

If you backup and restore your apps with Titanium re-installing and reconfiguring your system settings (at least for me) are no big deal. I am quite happy with 5.0.7 and it does have some phone features (vibrate on connect, vibrate every 45 seconds, turn over to silence ring) and some other goodies that set this ahead of the pack. Nothing earth shattering but at least for me, a good time killer.

Dont have my phone with me atm, where in the settings is this feature? Or is it automatic?
