Where is this IRC I keep hearing about?? How do I get access to these kernels? PM me if you have to ...

yep, so got force close hell with this![]()

Man if what he got is not 1600 geez we are in for a treat. Having said that if you compare the numbers of Dirrk's 1200 with this 1600 which might be 1200, I still dont get how you explain the massive gain in cpu numbers. I think that guy from the Manhattan project created doubt in people's minds where maybe doubt should not be. Again, frankly I dont care what the numbers are this "1600" Im running now runs circles around any previous 1200 both in scores and stability. I have a game called GRave Defense which on the 1200LV would lock up after maybe 15 minutes, maybe its the game itself. Last night I played 45 minutes without issue on the 1600.agenthex has said yesterdays test kernel wasnt actually at 1600, more like around 1200. however he has a "true" 1600 coming out momentarily or at least soon.![]()
Which test do you have? There is a lot of fluctuation amongst versions. Obviously, these are still works very much in progressInstalled the 1600 and got 2343 quadrant score. BUT. It is noticeably more laggy than the 1200 build. Plus when plugging it in to charge it says battery not connected. So there's that.
holy crap i just skimmed all the posts, is there a non-voodoo 1.6GHz kernel?? if not, can i install a 1.6ghz voodoo kernel if my current kernel isn't voodoo?
edit: does the kernel posted in the XDA link have BLN?
ummm...yeah...that lol should have been ftwI went to IRC and couldn't find it. I saw some links at the top with jt's test kernels but not much else. Can someone (who has it) just send me test2?
EDIT: I asked wickedbeav and he said that he already deleted all of them from his dropbox, and gave me the OK to get it from someone else. Anyone? Saps? lol

wait. 2GHz kernel?! even if it's not really 2GHz.. holy sh!t!! report back to us about that 2GHz kernel please!Apparently Hex's 2 new kernels at 1600 and 2G alledgely are giving mixed results and neither has the overall benchmarking prowess of the 1600's from beav yesterday. Linpack is apparently scoring less than 12 even from the "2Ghz" kernel. So something is a miss. I have DL'd two of HeX's 1.6 and 2 Im not sure whats out because literally in a minutes things can change on IRC. I will test HeX's new ones later tonight myself unless I hear otherwise. At this point from what I've heard I am not in a rush to replace the beav kernel from yesterday
thanks!!ummm...yeah...that lol should have been ftw
I only have two.
The first is test2. This is the one Im running myself. Only flaw is SetCPU reports speed as 1Ghz.
The second is test5. This has the proper SetCPU numbers however, I get freezes in NeoCore, YMMV. Other than NeoCore I think this is stable though. I might actually go back and re-re-test but they seemed nearly identical performance wise.
Take your pick though and as always, the usual warning blah, blah, blah and all credit to wickedbeav, AgentHeX, jt, birdman and everyone else who had a hand in the mix

Don't blame me for the names either thats what beav called them![]()

i just tried installing test2, it didn't work? said something about how the file was bad.
to provide more info, i downloaded this from an email i sent myself. laptop's having issues, and i'm on a backup laptop without samsung drivers. i don't think it'd be an issue though.. weird..
ROM manager also reports an error in recovery mode after i opened it. reinstalling CWM, and giving it another shot!
edit: 2nd try fail.
E: can't open /sdcard/download/1600voodoo.zip (bad)
installation aborted
i had to rename the file after downloading as attachment. i don't think that's the issue either though..
for people trying to install this, don't be scared. if it doesn't work, usually the kernel you were using before still works fine. my phone hasn't bricked.. although it did just suck up a huge amount of battery 41% to 17% wtf?
edit2: downloaded test2 file again, dumped it on root of sdcard (it was in the downloads folder before) think it flashed successfully. it's rebooting, staying on the samsung screen right now, this female robotic voice came on saying something. i think it's working..
edit3: success, but how do i know it's at 1.6GHz?
It sounds like you didnt have CWM properly on there but no you do. It also sounded like you didnt have voodoo; hence the droid chick voice but it seems you're GTG now. Test2 will report your cpu speed as 1000Mhz, its a glitch. Run LinPack and see if you have mid 13's. Run SpeedPi and see if you're get less than 400ms, in Setcpu the short bench should be around 111ms or so. If yes then you're GTGI'm getting a weird vibration from my phone. It starts off really weak then picks up to regular strength. Any one else with this issue? I'm using test2

Also, can anyone confirm the wifi doesn't stay on after you turn it off?
My wifi goes on and off as I please with Hex's kernals which I just finished benching. For the short bench, lock into performance mode and re-try. If you have wicked beav's 1600 it should be around 111ms, if you have Hex's 1600 it should be like 134ms or something.I had cwm issues before but I thought I fixed it lol. As for voodoo, it just helps make the phone faster? My short bench is around 180ish
Edit, wrong setcpu profile![]()

On that note Im going to do a long-ish post comparing the two 1600 kernals, some things need to be said publicly
