1.72.405.3 RUU issues

Oooo.. look out for it... I just checked but I don't have anything yet.

Do you know what is in the update?
 
If your thinking gingerbread..probably not.

HTC has a rep for delaying major overlay updates..probably some small things like fixing random texts, maybe battery battery management, better cpu control, etc
 
This is BS! As soon as I sell it, they release an update that will fix every issue with the phone.

Ah well, at least HTC provide updates to fix things.

Haven't noticed anything new apart from now being on Android 2.2.1

Camera Feature Enhancements.

Be interesting to see if this update will negate the need to use USB Debugging. Check for updates now guys.
 
its funny how when everyone was on eclair, froyo was the best thing ever to happen to mobiles and was the hallowed land. Soon as everyone upgrades, they say it isnt that great and only Ginferbread will be the saviour.

Soon as people upgrade to that, then it will be useless until the next incarnation is released

Ok things I can confirm:

  • 720P Video now records on my device without any jitter/dropped frames/freezing.
  • My phone seems a healthy bit faster, and seems to now be fine without USB debugging.
  • Root still works fine - Visionary + (R14). Root DOESN'T work it seems.

Can someone perhaps rename this thread to "1.72.405.3_R2 OTA update" or something?

Got the update today and can confirm Visionary isn't working for me any more :(
 
After installing this update will I have to set-up my wallpaper, theme and all of my homescreens and widgets or is everything left as it was?
 
Everything should be exactly as it was.

However, did anybody else have an issue with ringtones / notification tones afterwards? I updated at around 3AM this morning, and noticed earlier on today that my tones had reset to the default ones. Seems like an odd thing to happen and I can only think that it could have been the update...

Yeah my sounds were a bit messed up aswell.
 
I can confirm that the camera performs MUCH BETTER!

- the camera shutter is much faster, even in dark places with flash!
- shooting in HD is smooth and has NO FRAME DROPS !

As for the overall performance of the phone... can't tell a difference.

EDIT: the phone runs like crazy! It's really fast now and even the HTC Hub loads less than a second + my HTCSense.com is fully functional !!! No more unable to connect to server! It's a miracle :D
