Go to the market>my apps>superuser and turn off Allow automatic updating.
For whatever reason, I haven't been able to update it either, even after trying the update fixer.

EDIT:
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=682828 and download the appropriate version, for most on here that will be Eclair/Froyo and flash it via Custom Recovery or with adb via command line.
Glad I updated as this version seems to be quite a bit faster allow permissions at boot up.

Just loaded GB on my LG P500 after hours and hours of unsuccessfully tooling around with Universal, Z4 and Superoneclick.

GB loaded in 5 seconds. I paid for TBU Pro and froze all the crap.

Brilliant.

About how long does the exploit take? The "GingerBreak" window has been spinning for well beyond 5 minutes now... Enough for me to have read all postings on this thread, as well as the "safe items to remove" thread.

Thanks Y'all

Wow, ok so, this is great news for the community.

Here's the thing. I don't want to be that guy, and this might be a lot to ask but can someone please make a tutorial video?

just download directly to phone install and run the app lol just make sure to back up everything on your sd card just in case.

How backup if I format the sdcard? It says to use a formatted sd, isn't that mandatory?

Also, it says to make sure the apk is on my device and NOT the sdcard. I believe I know how to do this, but teach me just in case.

just copy everything on sd card to a folder on desktop then copy it back after the root

install the apk to you phones internal storage not the sd card.

A) You're really helping me out. Here's thanks in advance.

B) Trying it right now. If it works, how do I go about overclocking?

I keep getting flash image not found. I can see it on the root of my sd card. I know it's there.

Unfortunately I dont know what else to tell you that has not already been said, I seen jabba responded in your other topic, make sure you did not skip a step.
Only thing I would ask, are you sure your rooted? You have to have su privileges. when you do that did you give permission to super user? it should have popped up on your screen asking for permission.

I'm on joneidy's recover image as we speak, do I do a nand backup and then flash rom?

ALL my problems have been solved. Now running the Sense ROM. THANK YOU to everyone who helped me, and special thanks to joneidy for the ROM.

Worked Great! I just rooted my girlfriends lg optimus m with no problems. It only took about including reboot time about 2 minutes.
