Ok, let me just say, that I really appreciate every single one of you guys and for this original post. I did flash back to CTMod2.3 and was able to change the coders to 4GV. I ended up with 1.42Mps. Absolutely amazing. This will save me money on not buying another phone and not changing phone companies. I still ended up with the same problem regarding the CDMA....device not ready and device not answering. It is saying it has connected but is not loading the information. Let me just say, that at this point, I do not even see the need for the PRL change. The initial changes to the coders in this original post has dramatically changed my speed. If anyone believes that I should keep at the CDMA prl issue, please give me any advice that you can. God Bless all of you guys. I am seriously impressed being a former computer programmer. Cheers to all of you and this group. *****I would like to note that because it is late here (1:09am EST) that that increase in speed could be due to low traffic on the network. Either way, I still would like to get the prl changed.*****

on ##7678# my phone was originally on uart. changed to USB to read port. changed back to uart after prl change. this seems to contradict what your saying so I'm not sure what correct settings are now. on ctmod 3.6 currently and setting said uart before I restored like it did when I first open that menu in stock
check settings about status. bet you it worked. yesterday for 5 hours (literally)I was repeatEd ly trying different roms/prls/programs to get prl to change.

not once did I check settings-about-status cuz failed means failed
when I finally said fork it and give up I checked. success. it was the prl I wanted even tho say fail every time. pretty sure it worked on first fail and I wasted 5 hours of my life trouble shooting with out ever checking

ugh but even if fail check cuz it might have prevail'd
edit: when I used vista 32bit on ej06 and fa19 stock root it say it wrote prl Successfuly.that was month ago.
this time tried stock root ej06 and fa19 and ext4 stock ROM
and also ctmod 3.6 with dm script all fail

LOL!!! You're correct. I got them switched around. Must be dyslexic or something.

You will be in UART then switch to USB mode.
I still say to heck with all of this and USE MONSTERS SCRIPT if you can. You don't even need to switch the settings back when using his script. It does it automagically.

anybody else ever notice prl changing even though say fail? never did that month ago. yesterday I wasnt at ideal cellular hacking terminal
u nerds should get kick out of this:
laptop made for windows 2000
but running windows xp sp3
with partial (offline USB updater) updates due to lack of LAN hardware and no wifi capabilities. just phone jack for modem....
64mb ram
5.6gb hard drive
1 USB port
PS/2 mouse
it won't even boot without pagefile cuz ram below XP minimum (found out hard way)
haha I know it's sad. my desktop is a beast but it's in storage. that may have been issue but I don't think so since I was still able to connect to port and send password.
so ya people that fail to write to NAM1 check if it false error

I've also noticed that some of the older prl's won't write period. When they say it fails it truly does fail. Either they are no good or the prl files are corrupt which I don't think is the case since it happened w/ several of them.
After going through a few of the new 1's, 12121 is the best for me. My 3g seems faster and my signal is stronger. May have something to do w/ the work they were doing on the towers in my area too.
Just wanted to mention when I had CTmod 3.6 and Koumakernal 2.5 on my phone i wasn't able to change the prl because it didn't have the hidden file in it. Re-rooted phone and before putting Mod and kernal files back on there, noticed it had the hidden file on directory. Was able to go ahead and change prl.
Now if only I could figure out how to change Network to say Sprint

Yeah, I gotcha. Strange that it says fail but still writes. Oh well, at least it still changed the PRL right?

I switched PRLs to 11115, 12121, some not-outdated 6xxxx, and the new 12123 but none gave me any improvements... I also put the 4GV and the build.prop lines, but no significant improvements were seen. Speeds ranging from ~300kbps to 1300kbps. Don't know what's wrong with the extremely varying signal. I'm currently in the Chesapeake VA area. Originally from CT though.

If you want 4g speeds, get a 4g phone! This device doesn't have 4g
