Download terminal emulator from Google market.
Open it
Type "su" and hit enter (get super user rights)
Type "getprop ril.MSL" and hit enter
The output is your msl number(security code)
Write it down.
Dm mode....can't explain that one.
Other than that just follow the tut in the OP and happy tinkering. :-)

DM mode on stock rom or HA 2.0 dial ##7678# and select DM Just once you are dont go back to it and change it back there is also a DM script somewhere in the threads for cm7 it also works for some people who use ctmod 3.0 and up

this is old I know and been answered, but really aside from winrar 7-zip is a free program that will uncompress pretty much any file zip, rar, or otherwise.
Just thought I would throw that out there for people looking to open these compressed files.
 
12124 is out

Tried and it seemed worse than 12123 but I only tried in one spot for 5 min so maybe I just wasn't patient

I use 60687 anyways

Kouma i have tried every variation on every thread to change my prl currently running k.k. 2.5 and ctmod and truly have attempted this for 2 nights can u help?

which ctmod? can't use latest version because no dialer codes. get halfass Rom 2.1 and flash.

don't forget to back up first. make sure you have phone drivers installed and adb in path on your computer. click start button on desktop. click run. write "cmd.exe" and click run or go whatever button say. type "adb devices" and see what happen. should say starting daemon or something. if it say adb not found then Google how to install and add to path or ask me how.

make sure adb debugging is turned on in phone. plug in and make sure phone installs drivers properly. unplug phone and dial "##7678#" and change settings and push back. dial "8778" and change settingsand push back. plug back in computer and right click my computer. click manage then devices and go to ports tab. right click the port device for your phone. click properties or whatever option called. go to advanced. change port to 1-6. whichever is open. click ok and back out.

I believe.current version is 4.04 our something. search this forum for my prl thread and download prl zip

in dfs when all to register just hit cancel. yup left corner their should be button that take you to devices/ports to connect to. if you are unable to find your phone in available ports...
let me know so we can try and find what step your missing before changing prl
 
these steps for xp 32 bit which what I use. sorry if buttons or options named different than what directions say but I'm not at computer.should be easy to figure out what I mean tho

I have posted this before but I dont recall where,
You do not need to change rom to get diag mode
you can use terminal emulator, or adb shell and at the
# prompt use this
echo 1 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
Then when done restart phone or use
echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/usb_composite/diag/enable
 
Iused several of the prl but i got service back now not sure about my speeds but i went back to the work shop and from the main tab hit reset my phone rebooted and then had service again thanks for responding
 
1. Make a backup in CWM of your current setup
2. Flash Halfass or CTMod2.5 ROM
3. Access hidden menu ( that's why you need Halfass or CTMod2.5 ) and change PRL
4. Restore previously made backup

PS: Gotta check, what PRL is working best for you. As far as I understand, there are NO city specific PRL's... Just try several of them )

Or to update ota, once you have halfassrom or ct2.5, go to menu> settings> about phone> system updates> update prl
