I just want a fix for the horrible ring lag on this phone. I don't care if it's 1.6, 2.0 or 2.1!
There is already a cure for that...

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I've just been lazy about calling to get my MSL#. I hate talking to customer service.
Did you change yours to 1 or 0?
Ok people...
We all know we cannot trust these low-level online chat employees what are sitting over in India, with fake screen names. They just tell us whatever the hell they want to. Everyone's responses are different.

Um, hi, lives in NC. Yeah, SOME of the chat people are in India, but I can assure you I'm not. The only time I've ever even left the US is to spend 4 hours in Tijuana. And SOME of the chat agents in the US are morons (just like every call center / retail store / whatever) but trust me, they don't last very long. There's a reason the turnover rate is so high in call centers, it's a very stressful job and a lot of people don't last long enough to really learn how to do their job correctly. The employee is only going to be as good as they want to be. If you sleep / play games / text your buddies through training, you won't know anything when you hit the floor, and will either sink or swim. There are some agents that will tell you what they think you want to hear, just to get you off their call and so if you get one of the surveys you will give them good marks. There are some agents that don't care about doing their job right because it's just something to do until they get a "real" job, or because their parents told them they had to get some sort of job, and this is the first place that would hire them. There are also some employees that actually give a crap, and really are "researching" when we say we are, or asking our supervisors and trusted co-workers. I'm one of them, which is why I've been working there for 2 years.
And yes, when you get me on chat, it says my name is Jillian. Please think before you type and don't be ignorant or prejudiced.
Last update is April 9. I promise you all 100,000,000% that I will *NEVER* give you guys info that I can not verify somewhere. Just relax.![]()
Would you mind enlightening us and letting us know what it is?
Ok...?
A majority of Sprint's customer service was outsourced to India. I was stating a fact, no need to take things so personally. I have chatted with agents that can barely put a good sentence together, and I have talked with agents that are almost impossible to understand. I can complain about those issues all I want to.
Just because you work for a call center, doesn't mean I haven't had an agent get frustrated and hang up on me, because I, the AMERICAN consumer of an AMERICAN company has to ask him a dozen times to repeat things because he was barley understandable.
As a customer, I have the right to complain about the service all that I want, which I actually rarely do because I haven't had any bad CS related issued in the past three years or so.
End rant caused by you. Glad this thread was hijacked and drawn out to five pages of nonsense.
I would like to see this mythical law also.
The cell companies are under no obligation what so ever to provide any operating system upgrade. As I said, this would be no different than Microsoft having to upgrade your XP or Vista o.s. to 7 when it released, no law anywhere requires this, or bug fixes for that matter. You purchased your phone with a specific o.s. on it at its current merchantability, there is not even a legal requirement to patch bugs.
As far as 1.6 being required, what about the phone is not working? Are you unable to place calls? Get texts? Email? Access the market? All these features are working, and do not require an upgrade to 1.6 for any reason, other than they want to make customers happy.

There called the 'Lemon Laws'. Yeah, the same ones that cover crappy cars, also cover crappy tech. This phone is currently like a car that misfires, has a grinding transmission, an uncharged A.C., a half-filled battery and a disconnected radio that we bought 'new' on the lot. If they don't fix, they need to let us out of contract. This has happened before; a phone was released that was buggy and the cell company wouldn't/couldn't fix. They would then have to let dissatisfied customers out of contract without incurring the EFT penalty.
And as for "nothing wrong"? You own a Hero, right? The ring lag? The constant force-close? Sprint's PROMISE that this was a 'cutting-edge' phone? Oh, yeah; this phone is wonky and I want it fixed...

I was just chatting with sprint about another issue and decided to ask the same guestion and it was confirmed to me that it WILL BE AVAILABLE 3/26 for sure! Guess we will have to see!

OK where the heck is Rod Sterling??????
gatr
My hero has not been ok since I got it. It's been replaced once and the MMS issue keeps popping back up. I've tried handcent and it dosen't fix it, I've hard reset. That to me seems to be a defect in the phone. If they have an update that will fix it it would be nice if they released it or let me switch to another phone without the issue. So far it's cost them more in credit to my bill than it would for them to just swap me phones, and it makes no sense. Also I would like a straight answer. I've gotten a new and equally bizzare response from CS every time I've called. From it's HTC's problem and we don't care, to it's a Rim and Htc network issue (and yes I pointed out that there is no backend servers that Android uses, unlike RIM), to well there's nothing we can do. All these are insufficient. You (Sprint) sold me the phone, I've made you aware of the issue, you acknowledge it's a known problem, just give me a phone that works. Hell there are very few phones you could swap me with that would cost what my Hero did anyways.
Whew.
/end rant
The customer rep I talked to also said "10:07:47 AM : Annie U: Thank you for being online. The Android 2.1 will be releasing in the first week of April 2010."
I think I speak for a majority of the people here that agree Sprint CSR's don't know jack shit in terms of release dates for any kind of updates.
